Team Triad OOC

We're so very sorry we disappeared after the last OOC post, and are coming back to say this: Unfortunately, we can't mod Triad anymore due to IRL obligations, and it looks like the game is gonna be shut down. We're very, very sorry about this and want to thank each and every one of you for coming even this far with the game. We wish you the best of luck and thank you for your time and interest.

Hey guys! Profuse apologies for vanishing on you guys. I was having some health issues that are in the process of getting fixed. I'm back to posting again, but I might be slow due to having about eight million doctor's appointments over the next few weeks.

Sorry for the short notice, but the next plot event will be posted to triad_rpg on Thursday afternoon and threaded out there. It'll be a cast-wide event and will open up the possibility of third-person logs.

Hello, mods here! We've just got a quick announcement regarding threads, now that characters can properly start playing Sgrub.

We realize it will be tedious for every single player to do an "entering the medium" thread like the one between Masca and Sotain over here. There is only so much variety you can get in a series of threads essentially detailing the same sequence of events with every character. So in light of that, we want to give you options in case you don't want to do just another run-of-the-mill pesterlog or thread for entering the medium.

As long as you do a thread of some kind establishing a server/client relationship between your character and their respective server and client, you do not have to do a standard entering-the-medium thread. This means you can start off already in the medium, exploring your character's land! Feel free to thread events there up to and including passing through the first gate. Hold off on going through the second gate/to another player's land for now: such events will be opened up in the coming weeks with some Main Plot threads we have planned. We hope this will allow for variety in thread possibilities while still letting you work on CR and have fun in the very early stages of Sgrub.

Hey all! Hope you've been enjoying the first few threads gone up!

Now that June has begun, the mods would like to announce that Activity Checks are officially beginning this month. Activity Checks are done once a month and will be held at the end of each month. A post will go up here in the OOC comm, and everyone has to reply to it with links to at least one 15-comment Pesterlog and at least one 10-comment event/action log. Feel free to link to all of your month's activity, but it isn't necessary.

This month, however, due to the game's recent start, we're only requiring that you reply to AC with one 15-comment Pesterlog, since we're not sure when everyone will enter Sgrub and action logs can officially begin. Everyone should have no problem getting Pesterlogs together since everyone has an "entering the Medium" session of their own (further word on this and options involving it will come ASAP -- read: as soon as Ramen and I are awake at the same time).

BUT! Triad would love to boost its general activity level! The mods are open for threads anytime and will try to be proactive about approaching players on following up with CR ideas as well as making IC use of journals, and encourages everyone here to do the same. We understand there's an awkward period of waiting around/fumbling for things to say, and if we need a big group non-plot thread to kick things off, that's totally fine! Comment here with suggestions, worries, and ideas please!

Hey, y'all. Like Vivs, you may already know who I am, but it's about time I introduced myself proper-like on our communities. It's taken me a little while due to personal illness, but now that I'm well enough to functionally RP, here goes!

You can call me Ramen, and I'm the one playing Sotain Agalla, the immature and bossy devotee of simulated tabletop and computer warfare. He totally isn't obsessed with baking, either. There is nothing cute about him. Definitely not. If you've got any ideas for threads in which I can inflict him on others, feel free to share!

As for me, I'm a young man of questionable taste and moral alignment. Aside from Homestuck, I'm big into video games, especially Persona, Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect, and a number of PS1-era Squaresoft RPGs. I love to draw, and as you have seen am going to continue to draw icons for basically everyone in the game who needs them.

Long story short, my internet cut out at the start of the month, and I've only really got it back in the last couple of days. It keeps cutting out still, but I think I'll be able to actually start posting and things! /cue dance party

So, quick introduction - I play Linska Lacair (her profile is here), who is pretty handily given the internet situation  ridiculously shy. She's an olive blood, lives with an amnesiac dinosaur lusus, and is really only joining the game for the Fancy Loot. When she enters the game she'll be the Thief of Hope, which should give some indication of her glass-mostly-empty attitude.

That said, can this double up as a CR/plotting/quadrant filling post? Ooo, and if anyone wants to contact me via AIM, I'm verliererbat. You're probably better off trying to get hold of me via tumblr because I'm lame and still have no idea how AIM actually works. Hello! My name is Beth. I'm a Chicagostuck! I had found Team Triad through IJ ads, which made me practically roll about on the floor. Needless to say, I was excited to apply.

I am here with Zariste Daevias, a blueblood (specifically indigo). She is 8 sweeps old, making her one of the oldest of the group. Once everyone enters the medium, she's the hero of Heart. She likes to lord over people like a really unwanted big sister type, except she's not really very good at it.

Izzy was awesome enough to start us off on working on quadrants earlier, but I was a derp and didn't notice until recently. However, I'd love for us to work out how our characters know each other and what they think of one another (and if they share quadrants) just to make how character interactions will go a bit more clear.

Maybe we should each respond with a list of characters and how our characters would act around each like Izzy did? Maybe suggest quadrants if applicable, even if they're one-sided and/or unprofessed. Does that sound good?

Alright! Team Triad starts TODAY, and with the start comes a lot of information:

• The plot log is HERE in triad_pester (woops, sorry the mods told you the wrong place at first). All Pesterlogs, memos, and forum posts are to go here from now on.


• Players are encouraged to start using their character journals and Pestering other characters one-on-one. Let's fill this comm with activity! Just please remember to tag your posts in the community. The tagging system right now is: [type of post (Pesterlog, memo, forum post)], [all characters involved], ['Open' if the log is an Open log for everyone], ['Plot' if it's a plot-relevant log].


• The mods ask that you refrain from making third-person action logs (the kind that would go in triad_rpg) for now. They will be discussed in the future.


• If you have the time and desire, please come join the mods in the game's AIM chat, triadchat, to celebrate the game kicking off!

Hey, Triad! Mods here, with some bits of info before the official game start on Tuesday, May 22nd.

A) Triad now has an OOC game chat. For the moment, it's triadchat on AIM. Drop in to hang out, discuss plotting ideas, and ask any questions you might have of the mods!

B) As stated before, the game begins on Tuesday, May 22nd and will be kicking off with a big open log (posted in triad_pester) on the forums the cast frequents! They'll discover the Sgrub Beta and, ideally, will begin trying to figure out who's gonna play and entry order.

C) The test drive roleplay post is still open to some last-minute playing if anyone's interested! It can be found a few entries below us!

Any questions or concerns? Leave them here, or in the mod inbox, or come find us in the game chat!

A brief announcement.

Team Triad was intended to start officially today, May 15. However, the mod team has run into such issues as finals, and has therefore made the decision to push back our start date by a week. The new start date for Triad is now May 22.

It's been established that we know one another, but the question is: how? Any filled quadrants in the making? Had some ideas for how Serrac could fit in with the group, so I'll just toss 'em out here.

Masca: What do you think of the idea of Masca preying on Serrac's insecurities on his blood and selling him a "blood alchemy" potion? Might make for a fun grudge. :)

Sotain: Serrac's a highblood fanboy, so he'll be falling over himself to give Sotain the proper respect. Only...he's kind of bad at it. Social isolation will do that to a guy.

Linska: He'd definitely be interested in what she knows about troll history and he's willing to help with treasure hunting too. He's hoping he'll find some alchemical secrets buried somewhere.

Chaidra: He probably started hitting on her the moment he met her, since she's one of the few people he doesn't feel inferior around. In theory he should be bossing her around, but he just can't bring himself to do it.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Welcome, players, to Team Triad! We're starting to get more and more characters in our ranks, and this is as good a time as any to test out roleplaying with one another. This isn't intended to be part of the main game, but just as an exercise to get to know each others' characters and writing.

With that said, we have a few different options:

A. A thread on the in-universe forums that the cast are members of.
B. A Trollian memo between the members of the group.
C. A short-tag thread in-person on Alternia, with bracketed actions and more focus on dialogue.

Feel free to tag with your scenario of choice in the subject of the post. The actual topics on the forum or in the memo are up to you, and the situation on Alternia is equally up to those posting.
