TARAPOTO SHENANGIANS
CHARACTERS: See tags.
SETTING: Tarapoto from March 2nd onward.
SUMMARY:
TARAPOTO ABOUT Tarapoto is the hometown of the professional Quidditch team the Tarapoto Tree-Skimmers, which is the best team in South America and is among South America's largest exporter of wizarding goods. Tarapoto's main exports include instant darkness powder, numerous potions ingredients (great for stocking up on supplies), magical creatures, and experimental potions. As a result, the town is home to the second largest wizarding population (Lima being the first although its focus is on tourism and the Peruvian government) and frequented by traders. Lately, the muggle population has noticed a lot of bizarre things happening. The odder individuals in town have been more tense than usual, the population of roosters in town is quickly starting to rival that of people, and the indigenous communities south of the town have reported being terrorized by a "giant snake". KEY LOCATIONS Made up for the sake of simplicity. MARKET. Hidden away in what appears to be an abandoned building is one of the largest wizarding marketplaces in South America. It's a gathering spot for wizards, traders, and etc. Here, one can encounter individuals like mandrake farmers, manufacturers of instant darkness powder, and traders who might know where the basilisk was last seen. QUIDDITCH. The Tarapoto Tree-Skimmers' stadium, which hosts an important game while characters are in town (lots of specifics there). PHOENIX TEMPLE. The people of Tarapoto have a small temple that houses a domesticated phoenix. This phoenix has served as a symbol for their town for decades (rumor is, perhaps even centuries). Because of the town's connection with the Basilisk and use for phoenix tears, the legendary bird is very well-respected in the town. There are several festivals geared around the bird, particularly on its "Burning Day". The metaphor of rebirth is very important to the people of Tarapoto. Because of the bird's rarity, it's extremely well guarded. THE SET-UP THE DATES. Make sure to include LOCATION, TIME, WHO'S INCLUDED and whether it's OPEN to other characters in subject of the post. Ex. MAR 6 @ 3:00PM. MEETING MERMAIDS. Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew: CLOSED. OOC NOTES TAG. If you add your character in, tag this entry with their name. Or else. |
