1. Read and use the testimonials and not for trade entries. If you're too lazy to do both, at least read the NFT list before asking about usernames.
2. Posts are automatically friends-locked so only members can trade, do not make your posts public or they will be deleted. It's easy to join, and it will hopefully keep the drama level down. IJ DOES know about this community and it's not again TOS, but you're trading at your own risk.
3. Don’t cheat people out of journals/trades. Don’t try to be slick and take without giving. That’s low. Anyone scamming names out of people will be banned.
4. If you've been banned and want to plead your case, please PM a maintainer (shit, malfoy or user). Don't be rude or bitchy or your request will be ignored.
5. Anyone who's been banned using another journal to join will be reported to the IJ Abuse team, it's against the ToS.
6. Members have the right to say no. If they don’t want the username you have to offer, they’re not obligated to give theirs up. Check the not for trade list before attempting to find out information about a username.
7. If you’re offering up a used username, make sure to delete all of the old entries & private messages. It’s common courtesy, since that can be a real pain in the ass.
8. Be aware that trading is a risk in general. The only safe way to keep a username you trade for is to use a rename to put the username on an account you created. If you don't rename it, at least change the password and email address.
9. DO NOT DISABLE COMMENTING, you are free to have screened comments but there's no need to disable them.
10. Stick with one username when trading. If you get a better name you wish to trade under that's fine but don't keep changing the name you use every time you post, it confuses potential traders and puts people off.
11. When posting long lists use an <lj-cut> tag. Dont claim you're new and don't know how to use it. There's an FAQ for it right here. Any uncut long posts will be deleted.
12. Please post your feedback here after you've traded.
