He is very dedicated to his sport and as a result doesn't really drink overly much or do ANY drugs. He comes from North Carolina initially and has been here for two years. [25 May 2012|03:56pm] bnjmn So, I'm going to throw this up before I head into work. This is Ben Clanahan, a 22 year old South Carolina native who relocated due to school and work opportunities. He's currently employed at the New England Aquarium ( here's looking at you, knrty ) and finishing up his B.S. in Marine Biology at Brown University. His looks are fairly deceiving as he is not the dudebro he looks to be. Ben is a pretty shy guy who is soft spoken and much too happy with blending into the wall. It takes him a while to warm up to people but, he's friendly enough. He sort of has to be because of work. His social interactions have gotten much better but, he's still not Mr. Social Butterfly... not that he will ever be. He's been living in the area for a few years now so, I'm sure he'd made a few friends by now. He'll probably be living at Southend Apartments but, if anyone needs a roommate I'd be up for that, too. [24 May 2012|10:43pm] maye So hi! This is Emma Leigh and apparently she just can't quit you guys because I missed the whole lot of you since I left. There's so many new people that I'm not sure anyone would even remember her but she lives in the house on Lot 66, works at a tax office in office building 36 (although after a lengthy visit home to Amarillo, she's contemplating quitting and going back to school, but that's another story), and is a general nerdy girl. And she doesn't just say that, she actually lives it. She reads comic books weekly (and even won a DC trivia contest at FCBD two years ago that she still brags about), watches Mythbusters marathons on the weekends, and plays Sims in her free time. She's originally from deep in the heart of Texas but moved to Providence about three years ago where she's been living ever since. She's generally a goody two-shoes in the most loveable way and she realizes that this can be really irritating to some people, but it's her thing so she owns it. She's 21 and kind of a homebody who likes watching tv more than partying. She's fiercely loyal when it comes to loving her friends and often refers to them as her family away from home. She loves tv like most people love their significant other. And now I'm just c/p from my original post here, haha. I am really, really bad at these things where you have to try and sell people on a character by their best features, so I promise that if you talk to her, she'll do the rest! I'm not really sure what sls I'm looking for since I usually just let things happen organically, but anyone that she could reconnect with now that's back in town would be aces. [24 May 2012|09:48pm] gmanicotti O... Oh, hi. It's my turn? Well, this here is Gabriel Manicotti and he's going to ROCK YOUR WORLD. No, really. He is. Gabe is the younger brother of the pending manicotti and, if memory serves me correctly, he adores and is uber protective of the always spastic nahh. Gabe was a racer in motocross until he had an accident that made him rethink his whole career. While he was wildly successful at it, he didn't want to risk any permanent damage and took a step back. He stayed home for a while and opened an autoshop with his brother before his relationship with natlawrence led him to move out of the country. When they split, he traveled the world for a few years before recently returning to Providence to try to- once again- settle down and be with his family. He's already feeling like an addict not receiving his fix but he'll make it. (She is actually a student at RISD.) She loves metalcore 2 deathhh because of the energy at shows and enjoys concert photography/shooting bands. She thinks she can talk to squirrels. She averages one fracture a year and it is a miracle she is not dead. She owns a labrador retriever named Batman who is being taken away by her sister who has deemed her unworthy of custody. She will be crying about that a lot. She eats only food that rots her teeth. She acts ten years younger than her age (so 13) and looks it, too. She is really gullible and will climb into your van if you lure her with otter pops. You have no say in the following matter: if your character is alive, she will harass them with her amazing social skills (read: none.) Okay, just kidding. I'm really not a lame writer. [24 May 2012|01:20am] fgdukes I think I'm bringing in Gatsby Dukes, a 26 year old photographer with an Alexa Chung face. Gatsby (a nickname, no one knows her real first name other than employers and her family) is new to Providence and is getting ready to start her MFA in Photography over at RISD. She's bounced quite a bit: she grew up in Maine, left the state to move to Baltimore where she attended the Maryland Institute College of Arts to hone her artistic skills and realized her strengths as a photographer. From there, she moved to Los Angeles and worked odd jobs to get by, eventually landing a gig as a photographer for The Cobra Snake for about a year. After that, she traveled the country with the nomadic photography collective known as The Skullset. After about a year of traveling, she decided she needed a break from the road and ended up in New York, where she ended up working as a freelance photographer for a lifestyle magazine (publication TBD) and for Guest of A Guest, as well as an occasional Gawker contributor. Eventually, party photography turned into fashion photography, and she built up a portfolio that led her to Providence. Personality-wise, she can be loud and obnoxious (she's a younger sister, of course she has that skill) and sometimes comes off as kind of intimidating because of it. She's the opposite of that once you get to know her, and she ultimately just wants to have fun, so grad school should be a test for her. She's still getting settled and could use lines of all kinds: roommates, fellow RISD students, running buddies, people she met on her zigzag across the country, some sort of summer job, anything. He's been in Providence since he was a kid and only left for a few years before he came back. He's 26, will be 27 this year. He's the afternoon/evening DJ at the local alternative station, 95.5 WVRU. He also does station and concert promotions. He's just an overly friendly, goofy guy who loves everyone, just about anyway. [23 May 2012|08:29pm] livros I apologize for any and everyone I drive nuts with my neurosis. So I'm thinking about bringing in Livyana Rosenblum with the face of Leigh Lezark. I know I pulled her unexpectedly and it honestly had nothing to do with anything other than feeling stuck, with her, with what she was doing and who she was turning into despite the way I wanted to write her. I realized that a good portion of it had to do with choices I'd made to cater to past lines/circumstances that drastically changed the person she was at her core and who I wanted her to be. I planned for a bit of evolution than still being lost and depressed years down the line. Sooooooo if you guys will have me (because I tried to spare you guys from giving me the eye roll with this but the truth is I can't find any other place I'd rather be - it's a fricking nuclear meltdown out there to find quality writers), I'd like to bring in a revised version of Liv since the old one is officially canned. She'll be relatively similar, bacon loving, sailor mouthed, beer guzzling mess but she'll be less polite (yea, less, I think it's possible) and a bit more party girl with the morals of a pirate (she was kind of there, but we're amping it up). I'm going to revise her information a little as well (she's now 27) and hone in on her personality without disrupting the previous emotional capacity of a toddler's tantrum and inability to swallow her pride. Feedback would be appreciated (if you want my ass gone, say so, I won't let it crush me too much) or if you'd like to maintain the previous line established or create something brand new, whatever. Lexi is from Northern California, she grew up on a horse breeding farm, mostly raised by a nanny. She has a sister who is eight years younger than her. She left California at 18 and moved to Providence to attend Brown, where she graduated with a degree in art history. She currently works at Starbucks with lilshepard though she wants to do more with her life including using her degree in some fashion. She'd love to work at a museum or art gallery. [23 May 2012|08:38am] manicotti Okay, so call me crazy, but this is Luke, my fifth and hopefully last character around here. Sorry, guys, but all the estrogen in my head right now was making me a little crazy. Luke is a Providence native and he currently owns and runs a customization autoshop in the four blocks. Think "Pimp My Ride" in real life. It's pretty cool, if he says so himself. Luke currently lives around a block from the four blocks and is neighbors with lanc. He'll soon have housemates in opham and hannahtodd, whenever she decides to get off her ass and apply (yeah, I went there). He's brothers with the pending gmanicotti and currently employs dannie (or is about to). Personality-wise, he's a 34-year-old bachelor and pretty laidback about his lifestyle. He's generally happy with life, completely dedicated to his family (brother, sister, niece and nephews!) and loves to have get-togethers with all of his friends... or anyone who wants to come hang out, really. He used to work at Tech Bench fixing computers until about five years ago when he and his brother opened the autoshop together. That's the gist of it. As far as his personality goes, he's pretty much go with the flow; his biggest quirk is spinning unbelievable stories about subjects he doesn't like to talk about (for example: ex girlfriends). So! [20 May 2012|03:23pm] aswhelan Hi all! I'm currently trying to finish redoing her bio so I can get her applied, but I figured I'd go ahead and see what I can scrounge up connections-wise. Sloane is 27, lives with riehle and is friends/co-workers with malvares so by proxy, she may know or be friends with Milo's cohorts. She's also friends with lilshepard, who she loves spending time with because she gets to speak only in sign. If you check the "tidbits" in the bio I linked above, you can kind of get a feel for what makes Sloane tick. She is a freelance ASL interpreter, freelances as a filmmaker extraordinaire for the company malvares works for, and when she can she tends bar and emcee's at her grandmother's pub/lounge. Sloane likes to be out and about as much as possible, but thoroughly enjoys the quiet time she does get at home with a glass of wine and a book. She watches a lot of black and white and silent films. She's obsessed with bookshelves, jazz music, french culture and vinyl records and she is a major people watcher. I suck at these things, so I'm just going to stop and get back to work. [20 May 2012|05:59pm] dannie Hello, guys. This is Dannie Jonsson, a 26-year-old car mechanic and kart racer who works at the Tech Bench. Dannie is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, but moved to Providence when she was fifteen and her parents split up. Since then, she's been away to Chicago for college (she went to North Park University for Physical Science) and has completed her apprenticeship and accreditation exams in order to become a fully fledged mechanic. She hardly ever goes back to Iowa or Chicago now, because she's a homebody and prefers not to stray too far. That doesn't mean she doesn't have a sense of adventure, but she's not particularly interested in going too far afield. Dannie is a tomboy, I guess you'd say. She obviously doesn't mind getting her hands dirty or grease smeared on her face or in her hair accidentally. She's a pretty straightforward, call-it-as-she-sees-it kind of girl. She doesn't tiptoe around things, and she believes honesty is the best policy most of the time. Dannie's best friend since high school is monguer, and apart from that, I have nothing lines wise. [20 May 2012|05:08pm] sant Hey everyone, this is Scarlett Santiago (PB: Naya Rivera). Scarlett’s 25 and works as the co-host of derekmoore’s radio show. Scarlett is originally from Boston, but has lived in Providence since 2004 when she began attending Brown as a Media student. Scarlett used to be some kind of YouTube sensation - kind of; she was a vlogger and posted a lot of opinion pieces which made her popular for a couple of years when she was in college. She doesn’t really do that any more because she gets all her talking out on the air, but she’s not ashamed of her past as a vlogger - she won’t deny it but she doesn’t bring it up either because she doesn’t see it as relevant. Another point of note about Scarlett is that she has a really awful, rocky relationship with her mom and doesn’t keep in touch with her father. Other than that, there’s not much to tell! He's 29 years old and works in Research & Development for WET Labs, as well as part time adjunct faculty in the Biology department at University of Rhode Island, which is why his profile is fashioned like a ratemyprofessor entry. He's popular among his students, especially the ladies, although he would never cross any professional boundaries. He's a devout Catholic (former altar boy, even) who's had his share of traumatic experiences after losing his younger brother in a car accident when they were still in high school. I'm looking for just about any lines for him, but this is what I've got so far: He's been friends with derekmoore since moving to Providence in the 6th grade and knows jenrenee through him. He attends the same services as monguer and family and probably has a gym membership judging by his spam gif. Um... he's got a housemate in aswhelan and a close friend in lilshepard that he flirts with (using only his fingers!). brenns is a former student.
