[08 Jun 2010|06:29pm] braydan Hello! I've been meaning to do one of these things for a couple of days but, like my guy Braydan here, I'm kind of a slacker sometimes. So shoot me! Anywaysss, Braydan's the middle McMahon sibling, which makes him the brother to corine and resnic and also has him pegged as the heir to McMahon And Son auto shop where he's worked for the past ten or so years since he graduated high school. So, if anyone in Gaffney has ever had a flat tire, engine trouble or needed an oil change...most likely Braydan's been their guy. He's got a bit of a reputation as a troublemaker, although nothing too serious - mostly just shenanigans that would have annoyed his elders but probably amused everyone else (who doesn't remember the time he 'accidentally' towed the Mayor's car out at low tide only to find it stranded a few hours later?) He loves to party and is always the first to order a round of drinks, jump on the dance floor and generally just make sure everyone's having a good time. There are only a handful of ladies that have a place in his life, most of them are family including his sisters, his mother and two nieces that he absolutely adores beyond words. He does have a few, very few, close girl friends who he'd lay everything on the line for but other than that, women are temporary and he's about as close to settling down as he is to figuring out what the hell he wants to do with his life (which is about as far away as any almost-thirty-something could possibly get). So that's that! I'm open to anything and everything and brainstorming is my favorite so throw something at me and we can make it work! I'm sure Bray's got a solid group of guy friends and he's basically a nightly staple at the local bar so any connections along those lines would be great. Girls he's known and/or 'dated' at one time, girls who wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, girls who have yet to meet him but might one day cross his path (he loves a challenge and I'm a random-scene addict). Anyone in the 27-33 age range that may have gone to high school with him, anyone who knows his sisters or anyone whose car he's fixed with his old man. You get the picture right? For all his flaws, he's a social butterfly so I'd love something with everyone :) post comment

[07 Jun 2010|02:21am] katrena i'm usually stupendously awkward at these but i wanted to give it a shot before i head to bed! this is katrena ryan, 26, more commonly known as kat. to put it delicately, her family's trash and she is well aware of this. as a child, she watched her promiscuous, alcoholic mother and vowed that she'd never allow herself to take that path. though she wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box, she was sweet and self-sufficient, willing to work hard to get the respect and recognition she know she was capable of receiving. her outlook on life changed drastically, however, when she met rasch in her early twenties. the two have spent the last handful of years on a rollercoaster excuse of an on/off relationship which has shaped her in a lot of less than flattering lights. basically, her life began to revolve around him and the lifestyle he brought along with him and it wasn't until he took his little 'hiatus' that she finally got her head on straight and tried to get her shit together. besides all her apparent baggage, she's a really sweet girl with nothing but the best of intentions. she's taking night classes in journalism, works at the local paper, (doing glorified bitch work and occasionally worming her way into writing an article), and bartending at a local hole in the wall when her schedule allows. she lives in a crappy little house with her cat, redrum, loves sports, horror movies, and spike tv, barely drinks/parties (anymore), and is secretly a closet nerd. she's acquainted with many people but knows she's not all that successful at fostering healthy relationships so her roster of true friends who know her very well is probably rather short. i'd love anything you guys can offer me, though! friends, people she knows from the bar, guys she's very very casually dated in the last three years (and by casually i mean totally never ever anything more than maybe a kiss), friends from school, maybe relatives as long as you don't mind the negative stigma - basically, anything! 14 comments|post comment

(sibs--wanna hash out their relationships? mama--where you at?) joshua rasch capulet--known as rasch--is recently out from a stint in a south carolina correctional facility. he's back at home and trying to cope. always out of control, always a little volatile, he considers himself the fuck-up. he's twenty-eight years old and the only talent he has is a natural inclination to and understanding of music. keen at cello, piano, trumpet, drums, and is now tackling mixing and mash-ups via his old ass laptop and abelton live. he's a music snob to the highest degree and has been in plenty of fisticuffs about quality of bands and other musicians. chain smoker, alcoholic by nature, the only good quality rasch would offer up is that he's loyal. he'd break someone's neck for his family and has never backed down in defending them, for better or worse. because of his behavior he's probably a bit notorious around gaffney and i'd love any and all storylines! 15 comments|post comment

[04 Jun 2010|07:55pm] remmon hey! introducing mikey! he's technically twenty-seven years old but continually flip-flops from a life loving child to a cynical old man as often as some people change their underwear. he's a sensitive soul who feels great compassion towards his fellow man but not a whole lot of patience. he graduated high school at fourteen and had his phd when he was twenty and started teaching because he felt there was nothing better to do. after a few months he knew teaching was his life's mission. he's an only child but he has aunts, uncles, and cousins (this is where volunteers step up cough). he grew up in london but grauated from harvard here in the states. someday he wants to go back and study something else but for now this will do. he's messy, messy, messy and he needs a roommate to annoy with his habits. he eats hotsauce on his sweets, loves black licorice, sings along with bad tv jingles, plays the guitar but doesn't tell anyone about it, has only ever been kissed before (by both genders) and each time panicked with a, "thankyou." he's a good guy who will never be too busy to help a friend. however, there's always that nagging sensation that he isn't always telling you the whole truth when you talk to him about all of the strange goings on... he's known kobak since the begining of time, is in awe of the pregnantness that is geanine, and turns into the world's biggest bumbling idiot around the stunning kmacd. 7 comments|post comment

She works at Wachovia Bank in town as a loan specialist and is currently dating laeke and has been off and on since they were in high school. Her dream is to eventually get out of Gaffney, but so far, no luck. I have a survey of sorts filled out for her here if you'd like to look it over. She also has a little brother, Josh kobak coming in as well. Otherwise I'd love to get some other lines going for her. [02 Jun 2010|02:23pm] fredrck I might as well put one of these here. This is Freddy, he's a gaffney local and is currently either 26/27. His family owns a 50's style diner that has been in the family since the early 50's and has kept relatively the same decor since. There are constant twist contests, roller girl poodle skirt waitresses and constant 50's songs blaring from the jukebox. They serve the best milkshakes in the south, or so they like to claim and the place is cheap and the helpings are plentiful. His father handed down the ownership to his son a year ago, although he's still seen in the kitchen whipping up his famous mississippi mud pie. He drives a beat up pick up truck that was handed down to him on his 18th birthday and instead of buying another one, he's constantly taking it into the shop to get it touched up. He's your average sarcastic, loving southerner that welcomes tourists and locals in with open arms. His best friend is celia and the two can be seen on the small dance floor in the diner once in awhile performing motown style dance routines for the diners entertainment. He never bothered going to school, as he already had his life mapped out. He can be seen often in the diner sporting a pale blue tuxedo or on his more down days in a leather jacket with greased up hair to complete the look. His father has countless photos up of himself, his wife and famous 50's celebrities who dropped in during the time. He's overly friendly, unless people take advantage of how good natured he can be. Very much an extrovert, he grew up working as a busboy in the diner and therefore has at least spoken to the majority of the people in the town. He can be quite a ladies man, although he's on the lookout for his own Sandra Dee. In High School he had a small group of friends, not really interested in being popular or throwing the best parties. He's just happy having field parties with the people he knows and cares about. As far as story lines go I need all of the basics like his family, girls he's dated, maybe the sexual tension friend, best friends, I think the roommate is covered but everything else is up for grabs. 4 comments|post comment

Maybe a few girls currently in the 23-25 range who he slept with in his early twenties while they were still in high school, at least one of whom whose reputation was ruined by the rumor. Drinking buddies, Underaged kids he's provided booze for, people he possibly knows from his occasional A/A meeting attendance. People he played ball with in high school, people he dated in high school. People who have connections to other members of his family, etc. post comment

She is very much a march to the beat of your own drum kind of gal and prefers to do what she wants and what is going to make her happy rather than what every one else wants her to do. She believes in doing rather than talking or reading, meaning she's rather travel than google paris. she has a wit about her and tends to be sarcastic when it comes to humor. She is also a hopeless romantic and makes sure she always reads the "Weddings and Celebrations" column each week. all in all she is a fairly nice girl, but you'll know almost instantly whether she likes you or not and for her first impressions, while they don't mean everything, they do mean a great deal. She is sarcastic and blunt and she’ll do anything for her friends except lie to them, so if you ask her something you can count on a direct and honest answer regardless of whether it may hurt your feelings or not. [31 May 2010|08:25am] turton hello folks! this is maura turton, 23 year old lifelong resident of gaffney. lifelong meaning "she's never been further from south carolina than florida." though you wouldn't know it to hear her talk, thanks to two very important factors: a) she is enamored with the idea of traveling and b) she is a very gifted liar. being a bit of a chatterbox, she is armed at any time with a number of fantastic stories of her entirely fabricated travels. while it was at first a fun game to see how long she could keep people fooled, it became an important business tactic when she inherited her mother's travel agency a year ago. after all, who would want to buy trips from someone that's never really been anywhere? maura is personable, upbeat and outgoing, though some will likely find her incessant yakking hard to handle. others are quite willing to overlook it, because she has a knack for telling people exactly what they want to hear with all appearances of earnest sincerity. she is liable to land herself in a heap of trouble sooner or later because, really, what fun would it be otherwise? i would love, love, love to figure out some lines for her. in particular, i'd love her younger sister, who has been party to her lifetime of lies but not a participant in them. arguably the more sensible one, and i'd die of happiness if her pb was bonnie wright. i'd love a best friend for her, of either gender, who'd be the only one in addition to her sister that's aware of her extravagant tale telling. a few other close friends, folks she goes drinking with, people she's dared to do stupid things with her, an ex or two (i imagine her dating life is a rambling disaster, so there is potential for fun there.) basically anything you can throw at me i'm happy to catch! post comment

[31 May 2010|05:10am] ex_claire464 okay, i'm going to get this out of the way. this is claire, she's 28 years old. right now, she doesn't have a last name but that's okay. basically, she took a media class in high school that got to do the school announcements and found out that she really wanted to do broadcast journalism. she was an overachiever -- played on the tennis team, tutored kids in english, and then during the summer she interned at the local CBS station and took general education classes that she could transfer when she went to college. she was valedictorian of her high school class. while at usc, she was an anchor on the annenberg tv news and graduated magna cum laude. unfortunately, her plans to be an anchor on a station in a big city eluded her. there were either applicants with more experience than her or there weren't any positions to fill. after a couple of years of suffering through odd jobs southern cali, she returned home to gaffney -- reluctantly, i might add -- and suffered a couple more odd jobs all while lying to family friends about waiting to hear about applications when she wasn't applying to any. luckily for her, unluckily for bert blackwell the 73 year old host of wake up, greenville! he had a heart attack on set in the middle of segment, cut to a commercial early, and a camera man had to bullshit his way through the rest of the show because poor bert had gone to the great beyond. so, she's been doing the show for ten months now. it's awful. it airs at 4 in the morning and it involves a lot of bad puns, segments that showcase local "talent" and sometimes involve her having to interview people who swear to have been visited by aliens. she's pretty sure it has about 20 viewers, if that, and none of them include her friends. her greatest claim to fame was that she almost got to interview andie macdowell but she cancelled last minute. so, now, her send off is a rip-off of jimmy kimmel's we-ran-out-of-time-for-matt-damon bit. her career is a lot like robin scherbatsky from how i met your mother if you've ever seen that -- it should give you an idea of what she goes through every morning. I'M SORRY THIS IS LONG. anyway, she was childhood best friends with bucko and i want her to have a solid group of friends that she hangs out with after they get done with work at a normal hour, unlike her. maybe an ex or two from high school or even more recently after she moved back. people to be featured on her show in segments -- IF YOUR CHAR HAS A WEIRD TALENT, SIGN THEM UP. or, you know, if you want them to believe they were visited by aliens, that works too. maybe even the crew for wake up, grenville? even better, a male co-host that they're bringing on in some attempt to increase viewership? i'm totally up for plotting so comment and we can work something out! 5 comments|post comment
