Subject: Meeting the Duchesse.
Who: Olivia Blake.
Where: Christopher's estate in Surrey.
Warnings: None, perhaps a little awkwardness and extreme cuteness.
Open to: Thérèse du Labarre and Olga Fedorova.

She had convinced Olga to come with her, since their mutual confessions she had not been willing to let the woman out of her sight. It was an easy sell, though her promise to stay close to her seemed more important than her promises of a warm bed, good meals and a new gown or two, but Olivia did not seem to mind as long as her dear little Russian agreed. She had to return home, with her brother not replying to her letter and the constant whispering of him and his 'french widow', her curiosity was beginning to get the better of her and she was tired of saying 'I don't know' when asked after the situation. She either had to confront her brother or meet this woman, she could not stand not knowing.

Also it would give dear Olga a chance to see the english countryside, and her a chance to see her seeing Olga seeing the countryside.

In the carriage, she had fallen asleep against her shoulder, her arms around the other woman. When a wheel rolled through a hole in the road it caused the carriage to shake a fair bit, waking Olivia from her light sleep. She kissed Olga's cheek then took a glance out the window, seeing her brother's estate in the distance she beamed to her companion, "We're here." she gently kissed her lips, knowing no one could see them. She was excited about being in the country again, but not for the same reasons she was the last time she was there. It was completely about the woman sitting next to her, it would be the first time they were to be together for longer than a few hours.

Once the carriage came to a stop she got down, and reached for Olga's arm as she came to stand next to her. "They're all probably busy, perhaps we can get settled in before I have to introduce you to my brothers." she did not give the woman a chance to respond, heading into the house. She intended to head straight to her bedroom so she could kiss her Russian again, her kisses were addictive and she thought she could go on forever kissing her, but movement and the sounds of movement in the library along the way brought her feet to a halt. Poking her head in the room, she was greeted with a sight she had not expected.

There was a lovely woman moving about the room, looking over the numerous leather-bound volumes. Olivia had never seen this woman before, but seeing the way she was dressed, she could hazard a guess. Walking fully into the room, still arm and arm with Olga, nearly dragging her along, she spoke. "Excuse me," when the woman noticed her she smiled. "Hello there." and that was all she could think of to say without blurting out her questions. Hopefully she could get the answers she was looking for, without having to be so blunt.

Tessa had to admit, this library was spectacular. She could spend forever in here, just examining the various books, trailing her fingers over the spines. It didn't matter that they were all in English; she could read it fine. But she'd never had an opportunity to just spend time in a library like this when she was back in Versailles. They didn't exactly put much emphasis on reading when there was partying to be done.

But here in England, she could indulge, and she did. It was where she was right then, and had been for the past hour or so. She'd just finished one book, and she was looking for another, when she heard a noise behind her. Turning, thinking it was Chris, she started a little when she heard a female voice and saw a pretty young woman. Well, two pretty young women; the second was hanging back a little, looking a tad bemused. "Oh... hello there." Tessa smiled her best smile, smoothing down her skirts, stumbling over her accent a little. "How can I help you?"

The accent give away who she was, not that Olivia didn't already make the correct assumption when she saw the woman. "You must be the Duchess then, I am Olivia Blake, Christopher's sister." she gestured to Olga. "This is Olga my..." Lover. Companion. One and only. Love of my life. None of them would fit, obviously, so she scrambled to think of something. "Maid." When she realized that the pause had been a bit too long she tried to explain it away for fear of the woman coming close to their secret. She looked to Olga then back to the woman before her. "She's new and we're still working a few things out you see."

But when she realized she may have been rambling a bit too much about Olga she offered the woman a sweet smile. "A pleasure to meet you finally, I'm afraid my brother has been rather tight-lipped on your account, but the things I have heard about you are very good, I assure you."

Thérèse listened as the girl rambled slightly, surprised to hear she was Christopher's sister. She'd be unaware that Christopher had a sister at all. Ah, you learn something new every day. She smiled sweetly at the shy-looking girl, and received a tentative smile in return; this Olga was apparently out of her depth, but if she was a new maid, that was to be expected.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you too, Olivia. I am Thérèse." She had to admit, she was curious when Olivia mentioned having heard things about her. And Christopher had been tight-lipped? What was there to be tight-lipped about? Yes, they'd nearly kissed a couple of times, but... oh, Thérèse was curious now. Very much so. "I'm glad you've only heard good things... and what might those things be?"

"Uh," she had to think about it for a moment. "Oh, that you were very lovely, and that you have been doing wonders for my dear eldest brother's spirits. But mostly that you were very lovely, and so far I can see that it is true. As for my brother, well no one ever really knows with him, but none of my brothers ever tell me anything of value about themselves and their lives."

When she started feeling light headed she brought a hand up to her lips and blushed slightly. "You must forgive me, your grace, I trend to run off at the mouth... all of the time, actually. You see, I have been wanting to meet you for some time now and I am afraid I am letting my excitement get the best of me."

Doing wonders for Christopher's spirits. Thérèse had to admit, that made her smile; she was glad to know she'd been cheering him up. That meant a lot to her. "Oh, do not apologise, it's quite alright. Lovely, you say? Well, I don't know how much I can agree with that, but it's very nice to hear nonetheless." With an amiable smile, she gestured to the chairs, sitting herself down and smoothing down her skirts. "Come, sit. If you've been wanting to meet me, we should talk." It was coming back to her now, actually. Christopher had mentioned his sister before, in passing, and it had slipped Thérèse's mind completely. Well, she knew now.

She watched as Olga took on a look somewhat like a deer in headlights, and she chuckled, gesturing to the girl. "And you. Come, sit, sit. It's alright."

When she spoke to Olga she looked back to the Russian and smiled sweetly at her. She felt bad for nearly ignoring the woman, but that was just the way Olivia was, she tended to be swept up into things with no thought to anything else. She would beg her forgiveness later on that night, and make it up to her.

Returning her gaze to Thérèse she came to sit across from her. "Oh I could be cross with Chrissy, I truly could. Hiding you from me, especially after I promised to help him come back to himself, but from what I am told he is doing better than he has in years, thanks to you." she wanted to ask after a relationship, if the two were engaged, but she would not let herself so soon. It was impolite, and her mother had made sure to teach her to be as polite as she possibly could. It didn't always stick, but it did in this situation.

And perhaps she called him Chrissy in front of her to get back at him a little.
