The performance had been a good one as far as Nell was any judge. It had been enjoyed a lot if the clapping was anything to go by. Waiting in the wings backstage he brushed the hair from his face and fanned himself, cheeks flushed from the exhilaration of performing. The clapping had subsided a little now and Nell allowed himself to peer out, just a little from behind to curtain hoping to catch a glimpse of the new patron Harry had told him to expect tonight. There were any number of old faces in the crowd but there were still a few Nell didn’t recognize. Harry had said the new patron was French. There didn’t look to be anyone who seemed French to Nell out in the audience but then how was a Frenchman supposed to look?

He stood back away from the curtain, waiting for Harry to come and collect him, or send Will to escort him back to his room and get him changed. The other boys passed him, heading off to meet clients in the darkened backrooms but Nell stayed waiting, giving himself a few moments to compose himself – wanting to seem as refined and aloof as he imagined French boy’s must carry themselves.

He was going to make Harry proud tonight.

	Nell smiled, easing past Harry and out into the hallway where he paused, realising Harry had not told him the name nor the appearance of the man he would be meeting. Guessing, however, that the man would know him at least he waited, back straight, head held high in which he hoped would be the style of French boys. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Antoine had been waiting for Nell to show up, standing in the same area that he'd been in when Harry had left him. A part of him had been thinking that Harry would follow Nell out so he'd been keeping his eyes open for the man to arrive.

However, he didn't see him. No, it was Nell that he saw. Smiling, he pushed from the wall and made his way to the young man.

"Good evening, Nell. I am Antoine Laurent. I believe that you are looking for me?" His voice carried the accent of his homeland - France - as he smiled at him. Taking Nell's hand in his, he lifted it to his lips and pressed a kiss to it.

	Nell smiled, trying not to blush as the man kissed his hand. He wasn't used to being treated in such a manner and Mr. Laurent was certainly handsome. "I have been, sir, yes." He said. 	Smiling, Antoine let go of Nell's hand. "Now, mon couer, please know that you don't have to call me sir. My name is Antoine." Nodding, heheld his hand out in a gesture that meant lead the way. 	Nell clasped his hands, leading him down the corridor. "Antoine." He repeated, the infliction not quite right but close enough for a boy from the London streets. He was always happy when an Englishman attempted his name. It came out sounding a lot more...exotic then it was. Smiling, he followed the boy down the corridor to his room.

Smiling, he nodded. "Thank you for inviting me to your room, love." Good manners at all times. That was the important thing. Even if it seemed out of place, he didn't care. He wouldn't betray his mother's memory by losing his manners.

"After all, privacy is a good thing, isn't it?" Stepping into the room, he waited for the young man to walk in. Even though he was paying for the pleasure of his company, he wanted to let the younger man know that he was valued and his space was just that...his.

	Nell shut the door behind him, gesturing for Antoine to take a seat on the bed. "Privacy makes a lot of things much more simple." He said with a smile, taking a seat beside him. "Did you enjoy the show? Harry said you'd come to see it before." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sitting on the bed, he smiled and looked over to Nell. "The show was wonderful. You were wonderful. I've been several times and your performance seems to get better and better, love." Nell smiled, quite delighted with the praise.
"Thank you. I do, we have rehearsal in the mornings, then the variety show and then we take clients from mid-afternoon onwards till the evening show. Although I have private tuition Tuesdays to help me learn my lines. We're going to start on Shakespeare soon, Harry wants us to turn respectable - well, at least turn the shows respectable."

"Well, that's nice that Harry wants to turn the shows respectable. It's an admirable goal. I'm sure that you will all do well. After all, it's a simple process of line memorization and you seem to have that down rather well." It made Antoine happy to know that he was able to make the younger man smile - even if it was just for a minute. So few people seemed to smile in his presence.

"Harry mentioned to me that after our first get together that if we were both interested in going out of the theatre that it was allowed. If you were interested in that, one day I should like to take you to see one of the shows that you call respectable. Then you can compare. I think that would be rather pleasant."

He nodded, leaning back, resting on both his hands and looked up at the ceiling, frowning when he noticed a crack starting to spread from one of the corners. Have to get that fixed. Couldn't be having clients like this in a dingy little room like his.

He glanced at Antoine, smiling again.
"Out to see a real play in one of the big theatres? With real actors in? I'd like that an awful lot. I doubt I'll ever be as good as them but I do like being on the stage."

Antoine, even though he was a man of wealth and station, was not so posh that he couldn't stand to be in a room that was less then what he was used to. The snob facade was just there - an act to appeal to the like-minded people who would help better his family.

He let his eyes scan the room before falling back to the young boy next to him. "Well then, I shall make the arrangements sometime and inform you of when that could be. I have to admit that I do like seeing that smile on your face and if a trip to the theatre can do it, I'd be happy to oblige."

Reaching out his hand, he rested it on Nell's, running his fingers over the skin that covered his knuckles. The boy had soft skin, something that had always appealed to him. Lifting his eyes from where they had been watching the movements of his fingers, he looked at the boy. Figuring that he should just tell him what was on his mind about this arrangement, he did so.

"I am not sure how this works - I shall not lie to you. Things here are a little different from my country. However, I want to make sure that it is clear. If, at any point in our...relationship you don't want to do something, wish not to see me, I shall oblige. I rather enjoy the company of people and as such, this is a good opportunity for me for that. I am sure that with most of your...clients, things focus on the physical aspect of the relationship. Please, do not get me wrong, I want that aspect as well. But, I believe that talking could be just as intimate so when we are together, it shan't always be about that." Hoping that it wasn't too much ramble in that statement, he smiled again. "If that is all agreeable to you, love."

Nell listened, rather enrapt, to the proposition put forward to him. So French boys acted rather more like the Courtesans at Madam Isabelle’s then, prised for their company as well as their skills. Harry had said when they began to better themselves and the establishment this would be the sort of client Nell would see.

He smiled.
"I think I would like that a lot, sir...I mean Antoine." He corrected himself, still feeling a little wrong calling such a grand man by his first name. "Although I am not shy, I doubt you'll find much I don't want to do or that I feel uncomfortable with."

With each instance in which the young man said his name, Antoine couldn't help but feel a stab of pleasure at hearing his name from his lips. The way his voice seemed to caress his name, make it more exotic - erotic - than it was.

Ahh..there was that smile again. It really was a sight to behold. Beautiful. He knew that he'd do whatever it took to keep that smile there.

"I am pleased that my terms meet your approval, love." Nodding, Antoine smiled. "Well, I must admit that it is good to hear that from a companion. Tis always a worry about doing something that someone doesn't want." Leaning over a bit, he pressed a quick little kiss to the young man's cheek, the desire to feel the soft skin under his lips one that he couldn't deny himself any longer.

When he felt Nell's lips against his own, Antoine started a bit. Not that he didn't want it - more that he hadn't been expecting it. He hadn't wanted to rush into anything - although he should have realised that in Nell's line of work, it wasn't really rushing. Lifting his hand to touch Nell's cheek, he smiled a bit. "Love, don't ever apologise for anything that happens when we are alone. If you want to kiss me, do it. There is nothing wrong with a man who takes what he wants." Running his fingers over his cheek, he smiled and leaned down once more for another kiss, this one a little longer.

Antoine saw the blush on his cheeks and smiled softly. "Perhaps you aren't yet. But one day you shall be. And that is a lesson that is valuable to learn, love." Antoine allowed himself to feast at his lips, letting Nell pull him closer. Resting one arm on the other side of the younger man to balance himself, he nibbled on his lower lip, soothing the teasing little bites with his tongue.

The last thing Nell really wanted to think about was being a grown man. He knew that when that happened the life he led now, the things he enjoyed due to his looks and youth, would be gone.

He made a soft noise in the back of his throat, sliding his arms up to wrap around Antoine's neck before breaking the kiss. "I'm sorry. You wanted to talk." He thought for a moment, wondering what the man would like to discuss. "Are you at parliament? A merchant?"

When Nell broke the kiss, Antoine had to fight for a moment to remember what they had been talking about. It was often like this when he wanted someone if took him time to refocus on things.

"Remember, love, no apologising for anything that you want to do with me." Lowering his head, he pressed his lips to Nell's neck and shook his head. "I am none of those things, love. Right now I am, how do you say, part of an independently wealthy family. We arrived from France recently and have since been settling into English society. So far things are going rather well, thus I am pleased with it all." Lowering his head once more, he pressed kisses across the young man's cheek to the corner of his lips. "I am especially pleased that you agreed to meet me this evening."

	"Did you escape?" Nell asked, unable to help himself. The ambassador on his visits had sometimes talked about those who had escaped, those he was meant to be searching for. It was funny really, how soft his skin was, how sweet. "I don't believe that escape is the correct term, love. We simply left. My father is ill and didn't need to be in the middle of all that trouble in our country." Well, that was mostly the truth. He didn't know the young man well enough yet to tell him the whole truth.

Lifting his head, he smiled down at him and shrugged a bit. "I don't know. However, I am pleased that Harry allowed me to make this appointment. And even more pleased that you are as sweet as I had hoped."

Nell nodded, content that that was the truth. He would not have liked to see any unpleasantness between Mr. Laurent and the Ambassador, but how kind a man Mr. Laurent seemed to take care of his ailing father.

"If your father quite unwell? You should take him to the seaside, I have been told the sea air is as good as a fleet of Doctors, or maybe to the hot springs at Bath. They're supposed to be quite better than anything. Unfortunately I can't tell you first had as I've never been to either, although I did go to the countryside recently. It was lovely, I can see why people live so well there."

Nell blushed, enjoying the compliments the man heaped upon him. It was not often clients took the time.

"Wonderful! I shall remember those ideas and share this with my father when I see him again. Those are truly fabulous ideas, love." Antoine was one to lavish compliments where they were due. He felt that if someone deserved the compliment, they should get it. And, well he had no problems sharing those compliments with the beautiful boy next to him.

"The country is lovely. You are correct. However, I have to admit that as lovely as it is, you, my dear are far lovelier." Once more he leaned down and pressed his lips to Nell's a soft kiss to test the waters.
