Dear Mr. Brinsley,

Have you had any luck in discovering Robert’s whereabouts? I do hope that you haven’t forgot our little scheme. It must seem like a girl’s whim to a clever gentleman as yourself, but you have given my heart hope that he is out there, alive somewhere, and that you are as eager as I to rescue my darling sister from a life of doldrums.

Please know you were a great comfort to me at my father’s funeral and I feel I have made a full recovery from my grief thanks to your kindness.
