When he father first told her that her Aunt, Uncle and Cousin would be moving to England, Melisande had began counting the days. Alexandre had always been particularly interesting to her, perhaps because, like Melisande, he didn't always please his parents. In fact, the Alexandre was the reason Melisande had become so interested in the revolution. The night had finally arrived when the Clemenceau's would be attending dinner at the Auclair home. It had been almost a year since Melisande had seen her Aunt and cousin so she waited eagerly by the door for their arrival.

Melisande rushed to the door the second she heard a knock. She didn't make it before her maid, who'd been standing right next to the door, but appeared right behind the woman just a moment after she'd opened the door.
"Hello, Aunt Odette" she said with a grin, she'd wanted to greet Alexandre first, but it wouldn't have been polite.
"it's been far too long since I last saw you" she said to her aunt.
"How are you Alex?" she finally said, when she was sure she'd given her Aunt enough attention.

Armand and Odette greeted Melisande appropriately, Odette smiling to her niece before asking the maid to please show her to her brother and sister-in-law. She, too, was anxious about seeing family again, and Alexandre watch her for a few moments before turning his attention to Melisande.

Tired and uprooted, were the first things to come to mind, but until his parents left them to be, he thought it best to leave such facts out of the conversation. "I am alive," he stated, one corner of his mouth turning up in a grin a moment later. He then stepped forward, pressing a kiss to her cheek in greeting. "And you, Melie?"

Melisande kissed Alexandre's cheek in return and gave him a small hug.
"I'm as good as can be expected" she replied, sounding a bit bitter. She wasn't one to hold her tongue when it came to her family.
"I was dragged out of my home, and sent to a place where I know no one, but it could be worse" she added when she was sure the maid had lead her Aunt and Uncle far enough away.
