Chapter number if WIP: Undefined. I'm also working on a piece called "Let Me Be Empty" which picks up immediately after "Children Of Earth" and explains where Jack fled at the end of Season Three. There is a slight possibility that that piece may work into this story line creating a series, or it may go off into something entirely different. If these two do merge, there could well be several pieces with Jack falling farther and farther into his personal hell that develop to this point...we will have to see

Acknowledgments/Notes: One of the things that stuck out for me in the follow-up specials was John Barrowman's comment that Jack had experienced depression through the show. That his daughter's faith in him fueled him up again, so for me, it has to be asked what happens when Jack loses his soul mate, sacrifices his grandson and destroys the tenuious link to his daughter when he was so close to giving up before.

WWOMBs Speed Writing Write Off Weekend Event

The speed writing write off is officially Saturday thru this Monday this week, but folk have various days off so you can unoficially do the speed writing challenge at any time you have a 24 - 48 hour block of time...your personal weekend, as it were.

The challenge is to write as many stories in all fandoms or genres that you can in the specified block of time. the stories can be in the form of poetry, ficlets, drabbles and chapters...whatever you're inspired to write. This is a good time to check off chapters of those impending WIPs or plot bunnies that have been clambering for attention.

folks, if you're looking for ideas for those stories, I'd like to offer the promptsrus comm. I load several prompts a day under authors choice, more under various fandoms, but those prompts are open to be used as author choice as well, if they inspire alternative muses elsewhere. Fandom prompts are usually a single charcter, and a phrase or a couple words you can use to do your stories around. This allows you to build in any direction and add any characters that might work for you. Author choice are similair, just no character direction. There also some more fleshed out challenges and improvs posted from time to time.

For folks inclined to write mythological or folkloreish works, I'm also posting prompts of these whimsical creatures from time to time, along witha link to a bit of info on them so you can have a jumping off spot to do some research if you need to.

Stories are tagged by fandom, as are the prompts, to make them easy to find.

Tonight I opened a prompts (and challenge) site. Its a place to capture the thoughts and challenges that flit around in my mind that I fully intend to share with the writers on wwomb, but generally don't get noted down before I lose 'em. That said, I'm intending to to post several author choice and fandom related prompts there a day. Anyone else want to share a prompt or challenge are encouraged to do so. You can post as many prompts as you like, in fandom, character prompt, pairing prompt, whatever, but each prompt should be a separate post.

In "The Stolen Earth" Jack tells Martha that "I met a soldier in a bar...long story" From over his shoulder, Ianto suspiciously asks, "When was that?" to which Jack responds, "Strictly professional..."

Challenge #2: Ianto wants some answers to what Jack was doing on this secretive trip to the bar, and what exactly happened with that mysterious soldier.

Bonas points for uses of bondage and kink to get the answers.
