Timeline: Saturday, 2 June 2012 (forward-dated)

OOC: Remember, your ground rules are destroy the school, no one dies, and be EPIC! If you're completely confused, go check the Murphy's Law Day OOC post.
No one was ever able to fully understand what happened on that fateful day, and it wasn't from lack of trying. Howard Stark was understandably upset at the idea that his school was razed to the ground, General Nick Fury wanted to know how things could have gotten so out of hand, and Professor Charles Xavier was particularly interested in how his students had been involved. Three of the most powerful men in the world, all putting considerable resources into investigation, and yet none were able to fully understand the entire chain of events. If they had, they'd know it all started with a single spilt cup of coffee.
Part I: Felicia Hardy
Felicia Hardy was on edge. Wilson Fisk was sitting with Maya Lopez, his ward, both the picture of decorum and innocence. But Wilson Fisk was anything but innocent. He had put her father in jail, and he had ordered the experiments performed on her. She would get her revenge on him, she would, even if she had to wait for ten, twenty years, but that knowledge, that unshakeable belief in the satisfaction of vengenace didn’t make it any easier to be around him.
She found that her eyes kept wandering to his formidable form and, for the first time, it dawned on Felicia that she might be able to use Maya against Fisk... If only she had more training, more knowledge, more power, she would’ve figured out how to take the big man down. Her thoughts kept returning to him, and it made her a ball of nerves. It was that anxiousness that triggered some of her bad luck, an easy defense mechanism. Matt was the first to figure that out when she stepped on his toes as she excused herself to get a cup of coffee.
Good old Wong. Even during commencement, Starbucks was still open. As Wong handed over her drink though, Felicia's powers flared up again. Just a stress reaction, and only a small one. Just a tiny bit of bad luck: the lid hadn’t been on right, some of the hot liquid spilled on her fingers, and Felicia dropped the cup. Wong got the mop, Felicia made a joke about the woman who sued McDonald’s for daring to sell her hot coffee without putting a warning on the cup, and it was all settled in under a minute.
What Felicia didn't know, however, was that this particular Starbucks was not what it seemed. It was the front for the infamous Sanctum Sanctorum, Dr. Stephen Strange's personal sanctuary as well as vault for a large number of dangerous magic items. It had extensive magical shields, as one might expect, and Felicia's small flare of bad luck was enough to register. The shields activated just for a moment to contain the bad luck, then subsided back into passive mode.
Part II: Jean Grey
The shields activating, however, was enough to get the attention of the Phoenix. Between keeping Jean Grey from dying in the cave in and experimenting with the girl's physical form, she had depleted her already low stores of energy, and when she felt the waves of delicious energy so nearby, she couldn't resist reaching out telepathically to try to absorb it.
Part III: Grace
Dr. Strange, realizing something was wrong, teleported to the Sanctum Sanctorum to begin to fight back. However, the shields were weakened and Grace, usually exactly what it seemed, burst into flames and transformed into a hellish ride that befitted the Ghost Rider. Grace escaped, tearing through the shields and triggering silent alarms for all the Stark staff as they suddenly got emergency texts.
Part IV: The Nightmare Realm
While the Phoenix had been enjoying her meal, the fact that she now had to fight Dr. Strange for it made it less appealing. As she cast out her mind for other power, she found another set of magical shields, this time around a large urn. They were designed to keep things in, not out, so they fell easily to her hunger. What did she care that the portal to the Nightmare Realm was now open, allowing fear demons to pass from that world into this? She had enough energy to manifest, and that was all that mattered to her!
The very world around the urn had changed. Ward’s office becoming even more twisted than it already was as demons manifested in the hallway. As they appeared, they gave a fearful roar and began to spread like locusts throughout the school, transforming the moment they saw someone, into their worst fear. And these transformations were no illusion. They were all too real.
Part V: Dr. Bruce Banner
Or so she thought. Maybe she should have thought this through a little more, as Dr. Terry Ward shifted uncontrollably into the shape of the worst fear of the person nearest, which happened to be Dr. Bruce Banner. Unknown to most but a select few of the Stark staff, Dr. Banner had a secret. A large, green, extremely destructive secret. Provoked by Terry's transformation, Dr. Banner transformed into the incredible Hulk, and he wanted to SMASH!
Part VI: Bobby Drake
It had started with the challenges. The stress of training so hard for a whole week before them, and then to get into the challenge and for it to have very little fighting. Bobby was on edge with everything. The littlest things were setting him off, from the way a certain person walked, to the weather outside. He was angry, depressed, and just emotionally drained. Then things got worse. Fear demons? Giant green monsters? It was just too much for Bobby Drake. Trying to control himself wasn’t even a thought anymore and without any warning, he lost complete control of his powers. A part of him hoped people still had their winter wardrobe handy.
Part VII: ULTRON
The school was beginning to take considerable damage, and everyone was trying to run, including a few of the resident artificial intelligences at the Stark school. In one of the labs ULTRON, construct of Hank Pym, was busy uploading himself into the body that Hank had spent the better part of the past two years creating. The poor human hadn’t even noticed the slight modifications ULTRON had been making to it. Instead of the female form, it had become slicker, smoother, and far easier to move. It had only taken the A.I. moments to place himself within the body, and what a body it was. A little heavier than he needed, but with some more modifications that he could do himself using the rest of the tech in the school, it would be perfect.
But perfecting his body could wait. He had other plans. Other goals. Goals he could not accomplish alone, as much as that frustrated him. He was outnumbered and that just would not do. So ULTRON sought out other hosts, the robots from the Battle Bot competition proved suitable for the time being, and they were numerous. Hank had watched a TV program once with small mechanical aliens who could rebuild their whole race by taking apart other machines. The boy’s ideas were brilliant, if not a bit misguided for the human race. Unknown to him, ULTRON had taken the idea and had worked it into any and all of the systems Hank had ever helped built. Including his friend’s battle bot entry.
But in his search for more soldiers, ULTRON had discovered a very interesting piece of technology. Hidden from view and not within his own databanks, which meant that even his creator had not been aware of its presence. It had seemed simple enough, a suit of armor of some kind. ULTRON hadn’t needed to think more on it and reached out for it, only to be beaten back by JARVIS, the artificial intelligence created by Anthony Stark and thought destroyed in a fire. Much to ULTRON’s chargen, JARVIS inhabited the armor himself and sent an emergency message to Anthony.
The school was chaos, and battles raged across the campus. By the time SHIELD showed up, the event was mostly over. No fatalities, but extensive damage to property. It was obvious to see that the school could not be salvaged.
