And everything I had to know, I heard it on my radio
CHARACTERS: Melaina & Mad Tom
SETTING: Headquarters for the radio station Beat
DATE: April 3rd
SUMMARY: Melaina's at it again, grabbing attention bringing the talk back to the Extremist movement before people can forget.
The location wasn't flashy by any means. It was outer-city, bordering on residential, but not quite. The street was made up with a mixture of old houses converted into stores and cheep restaurants, and newer buildings that looked more like two-story offices. Square, plain, boring. It was late evening, the street starting to clog up with cars as everyone commuted out of London for the day. They were on the cusp of rush-hour, that moment when people were starting to tune into their radios at the end of a long Monday at work; when witches and wizards would be returning home to make dinner for their families with the radio playing in the background. It would be a shame if something happened to it.
At a sheltered bus stop, playing with a shard from the broken glass panel behind her, Melaina sat waiting for her accomplice to arrive. A bright red bus shuffled through the growing traffic to stop there, moving on when she ignored it. Today she had opted for a black coat and skirt combo with her hair in a ponytail; casual, and not even attention-seeking this time. On radio no one would see what she was wearing anyhow. She hadn't used polyjuice this time, confident in her ability to dispatch the two or three people who would stand in her way.
The radio station's studio wasn't even that well hidden, considering it was a Wizarding station. Just a basic charm on the front door to make any muggles who wanted to go in there turn around and leave again. They could see it easily enough, there was nothing to stop that. They even knew it was a radio station, but out of the thousands that sent their sound waves out across London, the station could be sure to keep the content of their broadcasts secret. This one was a music station. Melaina had bigger plans for the popular news station: WWN news. Today, however, her target was the station known as 'Beat', a station that would reach the young adults that would drive their revolution and eat up their talk of rebellion.
'Mad Tom' had been contacted three whole days ago by text message, which was about as far as Melaina's planning went. She told him to meet her at the bus stop down the street from the station, counting on his desire to have an audience. She hadn't exactly told him how they were going to get that audience. All she had said was that they had a chance for a spot on one of Wizarding Britain's popular radio stations and that she needed his voice. She was certain he would turn up soon.
