December was happily the one month in the year that Tracey's parents not only did not fuss if she withdrew gold from her account, but rather encouraged it. Since the age of six, Gracie and Willard Davis had deposited healthy sums of money into their only child's inheritance vault - though there was a six month period when at fifteen, her dramatic weeping and throwing herself about lest she be permitted to go out of an evening beyond nine o'clock, resulted in the Davis' ceasing all contribution until Tracey acted her age, and when she insisted she was and all of their friends with children of a similar age bemoaned the same. Gracie decided that just as Tracey had been as a child, she was as a teen easier to appease than to discipline, and started up again.

Tracey had her own account, of course, converting much of her salary from Tip Tap Toe into more suitable currency for a young witch, but why spend her own money on Christmas gifts when she was quite sanctioned by her parents to spend theirs? Should she happen to purchase herself a birthday present, as well, they would not be the wiser.

There was something of a line, directing witches and wizards this way and that dependent upon their business, and Tracey reluctantly joined the longest, pleased at least to eavesdrop on the conversations of others if she had no shopping partner for some of her own.
