As dawn came and the transformation ended, Remus managed to pull on his pyjamas and Apparate back to his bedroom from the Shack. He was exhausted, having spent a good deal of the night pacing back and forth, worrying about James and wondering where Sirius had got to tonight. At home, he stumbled towards his bed, crawling under the covers and pulling them tight. Sleep was swift and he quickly dozed off.
When he woke again, it was just coming on eleven in the morning and he was shivering in the unheated room. Reaching for his wand, he summoned another blanket, adding it to the pile on top of him, and cast a warming charm across the bed. Relaxed and warm, he began to doze off again but woke to a knock at his window. An owl hovered outside, the Prophet clutched in its beak. Groaning, he sat up and lifted the pane, accepting the paper and tossing it aside without a glance. Shutting the cold out with a slam of the window, he curled back up and closed his eyes.
Soon thereafter, another knock interrupted his sleep, this time on his front door. Gathering a quilt around his shoulders, he headed down the hall to answer it, trying not to audibly grumble about the interruption.
