It had been the best fun, all of it. And she had loved the dancing. And the company.
Especially the company.
She thought about how good they all had looked, dressed up in their finery. And she wished there was another event coming up soon, when she would have the chance to be so pretty, outside of her dull uniform robes. Other thoughts jumbled in her head: Draco, other boys, kissing in general, walking in heels, her Transfiguration homework, and then back to kissing.
The reason for the kissing was obvious; she'd already stumbled upon a few couples who had hooked up at the dance, and were taking advantage of dark corners to acquaint themselves further. One couple had caught her attention, as the snogging seemed especially poignant and romantic.
The boy had been running his fingers up into the hair of the girl he tenderly kissed, and her eyes had fluttered shut as she let a finger rest on his shoulder after stroking his face gently. Pansy had stopped, frozen to the spot and part of her melted inside as she longed to be that girl.
To receive such utter devotion from a boy was heart thumping material, she thought. It had taken so much to rouse herself and clear her throat. They both leapt apart, and Pansy felt that familiar surge of power run through her, wiping out her tender romantic yearnings. It had cost them twenty points a piece for their house, which they both groaned at in protest.
Twenty points for making me feel like I wanted that, she thought grimly.
She moved through the hall, and caught another couple of stranglers who she menaced with a strong glare and docked house points. It made the evening that much more productive, to catch a few out, those who thought they could get away with mischief. They had no idea who they were messing with if they thought that; she was in a good mood but that didn't keep her from being a stickler about the rules.
