"I don't think he would either," Remus confessed. "It was probably just some long built-up tension that made him do it. Either way, it's best to err on the side of caution, I think."
She looked so tired and upset, he couldn't help himself as he wrapped her in another hug. With most people, he was distant and didn't particularly like being touched. It was okay with Sirius, James, and Lily though. In fact, he craved it from them sometimes.
"It'll be okay," he said. "We'll find him, I promise. And don't worry about Snape...it was just a stupid thought of mine. He'll get over whatever is bugging him and find his way back to you, I'm sure of it."
He released her from the hug, though still holding her arms.
"Now, c'mon," he said, giving her a playful shove. "Cheer me on in this chess match. I'll need it. James has always been a better player than me and I've no doubt he taught Harry well."
