Lucius gazed about the growing crowd and let a small smirk play across his features, giving the impression that he was enjoying his presence her at the dance. He was, slightly, but not enough to outwardly show it. This was a new feat of his, to be slightly expressive with a smile and a pleasant countenance.
He wore formal black robes, and hoped to speak to a few of the staff, and to his son. He was only mildly curious if Draco would come with a girl; he fully planned on telling Draco that a shipment of new brooms would be arriving on Monday. Apparently, the shop did not have enough in stock, and thus had to order more from the company. Lucius was mildly annoyed at the additional expense, but it was a trifle compared to the Slytherin's recent loss; Lucius did not want to see that happening again.
He had been separated from Narcissa for the moment, and thus he let his eyes move across the crowd, even as the music became louder. He nodded pleasantly at a few of the older students he recognized and thought about getting a glass of punch for himself and his wife, once she rejoined him.
