Lucuis apparated to the side street, just by Honeydukes, spinning and landing with a small furl of his cloak. He had decided he would pop in and pick up some sweets for Narcissa, a few chocolates and some sweetened flower drops. The lavender and rose flavored pastilles were quite nice, and he knew she had a slight fancy for them.
But as he turned to the street, ready to turn left and enter the shop, he heard the screams and cries from his right, and his eyes caught the dark withering snake form shadowing the street. Seized with a feeling of elation and fear, Lucius stepped into the ensuing chaos and moved towards the noise. In the past he would have shied away from such a spectacle but that was years ago; his confidence in his new facade was complete.
He took large fast steps, pushing people out of the way and in a moment he turned a head to see a panicked Narcissa. Redirecting his steps, he reached for her, pulling her closer to him with his mouth at her ear.
"Who? Do we dare help?" he asked, glancing about, looking for signs of Order members or Aurors. There seemed to be none. Yet.
