Pale eyes met dark. Remus raised an eyebrow and stared at Snape, a little confused.
"Thank you," he said after a moment, and pushed the door open, slipping out and down the dungeon hallway.
He paused around the corner and stood with his back to the wall, a hand pressed to his head. What the hell just happened? He'd need a good bargain to bring next time. What it would be exactly was far beyond him.
And he certainly couldn't ask Lily, and telling Sirius was mad. Same went for James. It looked like this was his secret for now. And Remus was good at keeping secrets.
Carefully avoiding the hallways near Sirius' classroom and office, he headed back to the entrance of the castle and back into the autumn sun. Once outside the gate, he turned on his heels and Apparated home. He had a lot of things to work out.
