Who: Karaoke peoples!
When: Friday, later in the evening AFTER DRESS REHEARSAL.
Where: The bar Astrid and Keagan's karaoke party is at.
What: THE MUSHIEST MOST AWESOME THREAD EVER IN THE CREATION OF THREADS. WHAT.

"Hey, everybody," Astrid giggled as she sidled up to the mic, tapping it for everyone's attention. She was a little tipsy. Okay, no, way more than tipsy, but she'd been doing a really good job of being social over the last hour since karaoke had started. The thing had started while Duncan still had his kids in dress rehearsal, so imagine her surprise when he showed and Adora hadn't seen him yet. "So, okay, next up..." She giggled a little more, as if to a secret only she knew. "We have my favorite Il Profesore to siiiing. Mister Boyaaard..." She said with flare as she moved off the stage and went to go plop down in the first seat she could find, which was next to Summer.

For the first time in a very long time, Duncan was a suffering from a slight case of stage fright. It wasn’t the masses of young faces staring up at him from the dimly lit audience. Nor was it the fact he had to follow a rather handsome boy performing that goddamn “Hallelujah” song that made women automatically drop their panties. No, the unsure expression on his face and the way he came on stage with his eyes slightly downcast was because of one woman, at one table, in one direction. He knew exactly where Adora was sitting.

He may have known where she was, but Adora hadn't quite made out what Astrid was saying. To be honest, it had gotten to be white noise by that point. She wasn't even facing the stage, she was kind of moping. She'd thought Duncan was going to be out here for karaoke, that maybe he'd be a dork and do something. She thought she had it aaall figured out. But then she'd remembered his dress rehearsal and she honestly thought he wasn't going to show.

His eyes stayed on the rolling teleprompter that scrolled the lyrics. He gently laid one hand on the standing microphone while the opening notes to “Stand By You” by The Pretenders began. When he sang, his voice was soft, unsure, but clear and beautiful.

Who: Rae and Robbie
Where: Rae's room
When: Evening
What: Rae invited Robbie over for movie watching, after a week of public lunches and dinners scattered throughout.
Rating: PG-13 at best.

Rae was nervous. Which sucked, because generally she was too apathetic to care about anything enough to be nervous. Robbie, though, was slowly chipping away at her apathy with his good humor, optimistic attitude, and his smile. Mostly his smile. It was infectious, and Rae was pretty much a victim. She admitted it willingly to herself because there was no absolute harm in doing so.

In fact, there was no visible "harm" to Robbie at all. One date, 3 lunch dates, and an in-cafeteria dinner later and he hadn't even tried to kiss her. There had been hand holding in the halls, sure, some playful shoulder nudges and pinches and a hug-slash-arm-around-shoulders embrace, but he was pretty darn....harmless.

Which was why she had invited him over tonight, where she knew she would be alone all night, to watch crap on DVDs in her room. There was no where to sit but her bed, really -- or her computer chair (uncomfy!). Cassie's bed was a no go; it had far too much crap on it to serve as a bed, much less a sitting area. So they would sit on her bed. Next to each other. And... see what happened. Would he attempt it? Did she want him to? How harmless was too harmless?

Then there was a knock, and she realized thinking more on the matter was out of the question, because he was here.

Ushering him inside she was red-earred, her eyeliner a dark contrast to the paleness of her skin. She was dressed as she usually did: tights here, frilly skirt there, but was wearing a black and white star-patterned hoodie over a tank top decorated in hand-created paint splatters. "Hey," she mumbled, watching him come in. "What's up."

Who: Robbie and Rae.
What: Bumping into each other.
Where: Cafeteria.
When: Monday lunchtime.

So today was that legendary first day at a new school. It had been quite a while since he was in this situation, and it was the first time he'd ever been that weird new kid entering part way through the year. To make it worse he really didn't know his way around at all! He'd arrived yesterday and he had this morning off as well but he hadn't got around to exploring, getting distracted by his laptop instead.

The cafeteria he knew though, vaguely, so with his first class coming up he went to go grab some lunch. Messenger bag slung across his chest with laptop, paper, pens etc in, he walked through the cafeteria with a sandwich, chips and drink balanced in his hands. Across the room he spotted a girl with the back ripped out of her t-shirt to reveal amazing red dragonfly wings, which must have been the reason he wasn't really paying attention to what was infront of him until he banged into someone. "Ack! Sorry!" He apologised in his pretty thick Tennessee accent as he turned his attention back to the girl he'd knocked.
