Who: Xander and June
What: Finding a new master
When: Late afternoon
Where: Xander's house off campus
Rating: TBD (probably coarse language)

Running as fast as she could, June had determination burning in her heart. She didn't know quite where to find who she was looking for, but her nose would see to that. She had found Malcoda across a huge country of human stench, she could find a demon. It took some time, and night was beginning to fall as she finally was sure of where to find him, but at last she had. He had a home like Mal's, smaller but in the same human style. Panting slightly, her paws wet and chilled from the snow, June stood on Xander's front step and shifted form, because she thought that he might be more pleased seeing her in her human skin. Demons on the surface preferred humans, it seemed, and she wanted him to want her to serve. He was the only demon she could think of that had never tried to treat her like an equal, who didn't try to make her into something she wasn't.

The air was freezing, and June was naked. She shivered, but she knocked on the door regardless, determined to be strong. To be worthy. As she waiting for his answer, the hound got down on her knees, bowing on his doorstep. She wanted to give herself to him, so he could use her as he saw fit. She needed a master.

Who: Mal and June
What: Finding a stray pup in his house
Where: Mal's house
When: Afternoon
Rating: PG

Mal walked into his house, oddly tired from a long day of chasing his tail and not in the good way. It seemed that several of his Language students had forgotten everything they'd learned over the holiday break. Others in his sex ed class were being nothing but antagonistic. There were dangers to fucking around, even if AIDS didn't top the list. So it was a slightly frustrated, and thoroughly hungry hound that walked into his den.

And who paused right in the middle of his entryway. There was someone in his home and it wasn't the expected Rorie, Garret or Max. Still, it was a hound he recognized. June. Grumbling under his breath and casting a longing glance towards the kitchen, the elder stalked off to find the young one. It didn't take long for him to sniff her out in his fireplace. Mal waited in the doorway for an explanation.

I needed to think. The skinny one's brother made me think. )

Who: June and Finn
What: Growling and reluctant rescues
Where: A-wing bathroom
When: Evening
Rating: PG 13

June was coming to discover that anything shiny and affixed to a wall, she did not like. She had yet to meet one of these shiny things that did not deal with water in some capacity. Humans seemed obsessed with it, water was everywhere. Wasn't it enough that it covered the majority of their planet, and it sat frozen all over the ground outside? They needed it inside as well? Strange, useless creatures. And now, in the bathroom, June found herself surrounded by shiny things that were affixed to the wall, all of them teasing her because they held power over her. Assholes. That was a good human word she had picked up, and she liked it. Assholes. Assholes. "Assholes," she told the sink, smirking triumphantly because she could talk and they couldn't, even with all their water. They would never talk. Like rocks. "Assholes," she told them again, and she kicked a sink for emphasis. And the porcelin broke, because she was much stronger than the average human and sinks weren't made for that kind of abuse, and the pieces fell onto the floor and the pipe bent and cracked and water went shooting out from it like a fire hydrant. And June screamed, loudly, then ran to the toilets and stood on one while the water covered the floor. And started barking at it.

Thankfully someone had heard all the ruckus, and she came to see what had happened (and screamed) and then ran off to find someone on maintenance. She practically ran right into Finn in her search, and she was so freaked out she almost didn't recognize him at first. But she did, and panic flew over her face, and she backed away a few steps. "Um... t-there's... in the bathroom... water," she stammered. "And a girl... barking." Then quickly started walking off back to her room, getting herself away from the scary janitor.

Who: Billy and June
What: A rescue, kinda
Where: Hallway of the Education building
When: Midday
Rating: PG

Certain things were proving to be troublesome. The human world was full of devices and leverd and buttons that needed to be pushed and turned and fiddled with, and most of them were completely foreign to June. They surprised her with their actions, some made noise and some dispensed things and others just broke. It was impossible to know which would do what until you'd already done it. Very troublesome. At the moment, she was prodding at a metal box that was suspended against the wall in a hallway of the education building. It hummed, alive with electricity, and there was a piece that looked like a mouth sitting on the top. And near the mouth was a button, and buttons needed pushing. Leaning over it, staring curiously, June's hair fell around her face like a curtain. It was just her and the thing, the humming thing with a button. A button that wanted to be pushed. Lifting a careful finger, June tapped it gingerly. Nothing happened. Another tap, slightly firmer, still nothing. So she pushed it hard, very hard, and a strong stream of water shot her hard in the face.

"AIII!" she screeched, a high pitched whine not unlike the sound of a dog being hit by a car. Swiping at her face, she tried getting the water off, but she couldn't. It was in her hair, on her shirt, all over her face and her skin and it was hurting her. Whimpering angrily, she stepped away from the thing, that evil water thing, growling and barking at it. It had hurt her! All she had done was push the button that she was supposed to push, and it had hurt her! And now she was pissed. The only way to dry off was to make herself hotter, but no one back home had told her that human clothes were flammable, so when she engulfed herself in flames, her clothing burnt off and she was left standing naked in the middle of the hallway.

Oh my goodness, um... you're not... you're not dressed, are you? )

Friday: January/9/09

Who: Nox and June
When: Friday afternoon
Where: out on the grounds near the stables
What: a chat

After Nox wrapped up his office hours on Friday, he quickly changed into some workout clothes and went for a run. It was his normal Friday routine. Nox was a big fan of routines, which most people knew. He had three different routes that he alternated. Today's was a loop around the entire school, with a trip through the woods (he liked the crunch of the leaves, or snow as was the case today).

Belle wanted him all to herself for the weekend, but this was his time to clear his head of the week's stresses so he could focus entirely on her. Nox didn't want any distractions to occupy his mind while his wife helped him celebrate his birthday. He visualized all his problems being burned like calories in his body as he ran, pushing his body harder each time his muscles started to protest.

But it wasn't his tired muscles that caused him to slow down as he rounded the stables. Nox spotted someone walking oddly, her posture indicating she was sniffing the air. He jogged over to investigate, and that's when he recognized the young woman from a photo he'd seen of her. "Hello, June," Nox said in a slightly winded voice. He came to a stop, knowing that was a bad idea, because cramps might set in, but it seemed rude to jog lightly in place while holding a conversation. "I'm Nox. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

Who: Mal and Ziv
What: Meeting and battle!
Where: The woods behind Mal's house
When: Mid afternoon
Rating: R for violence/language.

She had been tracking him for weeks, and it had not been easy. But she was determined. Failure was not an option. She knew the other elders didn't think she could do this, that she was too young, too weak. But her master had faith in her. He had told her to go, and he wouldn't have sent her topside unless he knew she could handle it. Luck seemed to be on her side, though. She caught the faintness of the scent of Miroslav very soon after she arrived topside, and while that was not her primary target, he was one of her objectives. It was rumored that Malcoda had assisted the runaway, and if this was true then one would lead to the other. So she had followed, blending with the world around her as best as she could, rarely sleeping and picking up the language of the humans. They were an interesting species, in the same way that an ant farm was interesting to watch. The way they went through their lives, how simple their structure was, their needs. How they liked to think themselves complicated. Sad, weird little creatures.

What was most interesting, and unusual, was how varied humans were. Hellhounds all followed a basic code of undertanding- obey the master. Obey demons. Follow orders or be killed. Humans were all over the place in what they thought, what they did, what they believed. It made no sense to Ziv, and she would be glad when she got to return home. And while, over the weeks, it seemed that home would be a long way off, finally the day came where her journey seemed to come to an end. The smell of home was pungent in the air, familiar scents that no human could replicate. It could have been another hound on a mission, it could have been an escort.

But it wasn't. Because there he was, hidden amongst trees behind some human dwellings. He seemed to be walking ambly, without purpose. Ziv frowned. Being topside seemed to have softened the elder, like everyone was saying. She hadn't wanted to believe that he was weaker, because of how proud of him Hades had been, but it seemed true. Malcoda was becoming nothing. Crouching low, the young hound shifted, her clothing searing off in a quiet, contained ball of flames. She trotted over to the elder, without secrecy or hesitation, her wings tucked low against her body. "Malcoda," she said as she came before him, bowing her head in respect. "Volám sa Ziv. Ja som poslal zabiť."
