Activity requirements are non-existant. Just be free for enough time to do the plot over the eight weeks and let people know if you're going to be away from the computer a lot.
Be true to the character but don't forget to contact other players before doing anything that will effect their characters. If you want to do something with your characters that will effect a lot of people, let me know.
Remember that in character does not equal out of character. If someone plays a sadistic monster, that doesn't mean they are one out of character.
Don't be rude out of character. If you don't like someone, we're not going to force you to try and get along but there's a line between disliking someone and being pointedly cruel.
All logs must be done in third person and all journals must be written in first person.
Do not godmod, metagame or attempt to do something that will greatly affect a character without telling their player.
Make sure that the characters source of income and occupation is believable. Jobs at the Ministry are fine but we do like a bit of variety where possible and not everyone has to work if they have an independent wealth (for instance, the Malfoys) but have where they live and how they live reflect this as much as possible.
Try to keep the anachronisms to a minimum. If in doubt, just google it.
As a rule, people do not want others to know they are in the Order or a Death Eater. There are exceptions, but I doubt anyone will be wearing a 'I'm a Death Eater - ask me how!' badge so try and keep their involvements as subtle as would suit the character.
The journals themselves are small, black books that are given to people when they start school and can be purchased after school.
Your character must have realistic strengths and weaknesses. We don't want characters that are impossible to defeat.
Use believable PB's. Even if the movies thinks Narcissa is a skunk, we don't.
Be clear with your warding. For instance, since there are two Mrs Lestranges, please specify which when warding.
Students can only speak to people outside of the school on their own school issued journals. This is so the head teacher can spy on it if need be as the head can see any ward on a student journal if they look. They can see adult public entries but not warded ones, even if it's warded to them. They will get new ones after graduation.
There rules are subject to change to to be added to, but you will be notified.
