Summary: Katie takes the latest batch of brooms she's selling out to a pitch to try them out, meets up with someone!
Katie was in good spirits heading out with a large bundle of brooms from distributors and her father as well. She always liked to test-fly the brooms she sold - didn't want to be one of those pricks who tried to bull-shite their buyers. If something was rubbish, she wouldn't sell it, but if it had some flaws underlying massive advantages, she was sure someone somewhere could use it.
The skies were clear and Katie had put her hair back and her old padding on over denims and an old long-sleeve t-shirt she found at the second-hand store. Striding across the pitch she rubbed her hands together and cracked her neck. "Who's first then?" She picked up a new German model and wondered if she should've brought some potions - the last time she'd test-flown a German broom she was lucky to be able to walk off the pitch with only a dislocated shoulder.
She tried anyway and kicked off. "Hmmmm, slow lift-off." It didn't seem to have the kick that some of the newer models had from other companies, but she didn't stop there. Katie zoomed around the pitch going in circles to find the build up of speed and found that it cornered nicely, but slowing down was a problem afterward - the momentum just kept going. "Feck..." She had to jump off the broom because it wasn't slowing down sufficiently enough for her to make a clean stop. It fell to the ground, eventually, and Katie wrinkled up her nose as she walked over to fetch it again. "You're going in the 'maybe' pile mein herr!"
Katie chucked the broom where she imagined the 'maybe' pile would go and heard laughter, talking, or both and she turned to see who was there. "I guess I'm not the only one who comes here then."
