Making important, potentially life-altering decisions were different for everyone. Some liked to consider all the options, others liked just going with instincts, while others still preferred to talk with other people. The Granger household somehow combined various options to create a system that was unique and all their own. The conclusion of one such long discussion was that Hermione was finally returning home. She could hardly believe the words, joy bubbling quickly through her entire body. This was not to say she did not love her family, she did very much, but she yearned for the comforts, she had taken for grant. Australia was an experience she would never forget but it was not home to her. No, true home was in Ron’s arms. Thus, perhaps if he had been in Australia things would have felt differently. Really, it was not all that shocking she felt that way since Ron had been a vital part of her life since she was eleven years old, just had taken her longer to see it, and him even longer still. There was a comfort with him but she often wondered if things were going to process any further with them. Her parents had thought they would have been married by now and some part of her had thought the very same thing.
Shaking her head, Hermione sat her bags down in her living room; the flat looked quite bare, indeed. However, she did not spend all that much time here since she mostly was at Ron and Harry’s flat. Again, she would have thought by now she would live with Ron but she was not one to bring up such topics. It was hard enough vocalizing her emotions in the first place, after all. Unless, they were feelings of annoyance or disappointment. She was well versed in those, but one had to be with blokes like Harry and Ron.
After one last look, she apparated from the flat, landing with a cough in the middle of Ron and Harry’s living room. A quick surveillance proved they were not in, and for Hermione that was perfection. She wanted to give them a bit of a surprise; no one knew she was home, yet. Nevertheless, she hoped the return would give a positive reaction. Smiling deviously, Hermione pulled a thing of parchment, ink and a quill over to the counter. Working quickly, she jotted down a few clues to hover for the boys to follow. The first clue would pop up in front of them, right when they walked through the door and would not leave until they figured out the clue and found the others. Each clue would behave the same way. At the very end of clues, they would find a huge box decorated with a cutesy pink bow. Instead of being in the box, Hermione would be behind them.
Grinning, she quickly moved around the flat, putting the final additions on all the preparations. Once she was done, she charmed herself to remain unseen until the moment she wanted them to see her. This would allow her to see everything they were doing along the way.
Clue One: Red gathers, can burn for hours, but makes not a sound of warning.
Clue Two: Blue is of healing, clear and dripping, but drains underneath.
Clue Three: Brown shifts, rearranges many stories but each one adds more history
Clear Four: Yellow is the mark of the sun, glowing and burning away the hours.
