Rodolphus sat in the large comfortable armchair in his study and stared into the fireplace, a glass of brandy in one hand. The consequences of the spell he had cast were far more than he'd ever expected and he could only hope that they were going to be worth it. The spell had aged him for a start. The initial effort that had brought Voldemort back had drained him alarmingly of magical power and had sapped him of what seemed to be several years. He had yet to determine whether that was literal or merely cosmetic.
He had largely regained the magical strength he had lost but there had been one other interesting effect of the spell. He'd read the Prophet and the news of more wizards and witches coming back but it had been of little surprise to him. He'd known it already. Because each time one of them had come back, he'd felt a pull on his magical core, one similar to the initial one caused by the spell. Far less in effect of course but enough that he knew what was happening.
The Prophet had reported one more person returning from the dead other than Voldemort. Nymphadora Tonks. But Rodolphus knew there was two others. He didn't know the identity of that other returnees, he just knew they were out there. Was the Ministry hiding those people for some reason or did they just not know? That was a most interesting question and one he'd dearly love to have an answer to. Perhaps he ought to think about contacting someone who may well be in a position to find out? It was certainly an idea worthy of some thought.
