WHO: Rey and Robb Stark
WHEN: 10th December, Aftermoon
WHERE: Millennium Falcon Crew Quarters
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Being able to communicate with Grey Wind, Robb has started learning to warg. Rey is...understandably concerned.

The Falcon was a spaceship, and, as such, it was built to withstand a certain amount of electrical interference. Storms, currents, even the occasional direct strike weren't going to harm it all that much. Several direct, sustained strikes however? Well they had done a number. Nothing that couldn't be fixed, Rey had removed the power cells the moment things began to look dicey to stop them from overloading. Most of the damage could be repaired, even with the limited technology of this time period. A copper rod was still a copper rod. Still, it was tiring work.

Rey stumbled into the crew quarters, more tired than she'd realized, and more than a little covered in grease and soot from the repairs. A rest, that's what she needed. Maybe in the actual bunk for once. The hammocks were softer, but she didn't like the idea of coating the thing in the same junk that coated her.

One of the hammock's was occupied. Normally, that wouldn't have been cause for concern. So Robb was taking an afternoon nap. Odd, but not a crime. What was worrying was the fact that he was there, and Grew Wind was not. The massive direwolf always slept directly beneath him and for him to be absent...dread flooded through her for reasons she couldn't have put words to. If the wolf wasn't there...

"Robb?!" She was over to the hammock in half a stride, reaching to shake him.

Grey Wind had told him many things. Things which Robb found fantastical. These were stories for Bran, they reminded him in an abstract way of the stories that Bran would drag out of Old Nan. Only Grey Wind didn't have her terrifying manner or way with the stories. Old Nan was a master of words but her stories were more about the rapid horror she could build while she blended the threads of stories together.

The direwolf he found much more direct than Old Nan had ever managed to be. Old Nan had told him about the Wargs that existed long ago. Probably during the age of the First Men but Robb couldn't remember, he'd never been taken by those stories. Her stories were about men trapped in the bodies of creatures and forgetting who they were, even though really they never did.

Grey Wind didn't speak of those horrors. Never even used the word warg. Grey Wind focused on the how if he wanted to he could shift his mind from his own body into the direwolf. Robb wanted to think the idea as fantastic as the stories, but then everyone had gotten a companion. A companion that from what he gathered based on everyone's experience shared a special connection with them.

That's why he had finally decided to try. The direwolf hadn't been able to provide him with clear instructions. Relaxation, concentration, he was to picture a wheel, or even better one of the revolving doors in the hotels. He could push on the door and eventually, there would be an opening that would take him into the body of the direwolf.

He had not been prepared for the exhilarating rush of senses or for the way that beneath his own mind there was still Grey Wind's own quiet and and pleased consciousness just below his awareness. He had bolted off the Millennium Falcon without meaning to really, the direwolf just moved so quickly. He was trying to make sense of the sensations when there was a sound distant, confused he perked the ears of the direwolf and listened more intently. Probably someone afraid of him, he should have been more careful about that.

He wasn't waking up. Grey Wind was gone. Utter panic set in. Rey leaned forward and rested her head against his chest. His heart was still beating, but that didn't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things. She'd seen plenty of hearts keep beating, bodies keep walking, long after the mind had checked out completely. She hovered her cheek above his mouth and yes...still breathing.

"ROBB," she shouted, directly into his face and shook him again, but he might as well have been dead. In a fit of desperation, Rey pulled her hand back and she slapped him. Hard. Her hand left a greasy streak on his cheek.
