[probably a mark of how weird his life was, it wasn't even all that surprising to wake up at home again. He went through his morning routine like usual, thinking vaguely as he showered about the place he'd left behind and wondering how people were managing. Ordinary thoughts. And he dressed in ordinary clothes before leaving his ordinary home to casually head to Hibari's. Like if he acted routine enough, it really would be. Tucking one hand in his pocket, he cocked his head and calculated mentally his odds of waking Hibari up if he were even home. And then knocked anyway]

[it was easy to fall back into routine after waking up in his own room almost two months ago. It was the benefit of being unattached.]

[but ever since he had returned, there was a malingering sense of restlessness, dissatisfaction. He blamed it on losing his main... opponent. Fighting the Yamamoto from this era was not the same; he lacked something. A certain fierceness. But that aside, Hibari was pleased to be returned to his business]

[it was Tetsu of course, who opened let Yamamoto in and directed him to the room where Hibari was drinking his morning tea]

[stands in the doorway watching Hibari for a moment, smiling wryly over at him. Weird to say something like "long time no see"? Probably. They'd spent lots more time apart than that and thought nothing of it. Besides, who knew if Hibari even remembered any of the last year and change]
