The Doorway: a panfandom game

Decided to take a break from the network and the internet and all that. It just gets sort of overwhelming when you're not used to it from home. Apparently I stayed away for too long though, because when I logged on today, I found out that I'm a 30 year old man. Those 12 years really just flew by.

So, Four, did you know that this world thinks you look like you're almost thirty? I suppose I can see it. You do look kind of old.

( He made a point of not drinking with the younger Dauntless, knowing he'd end up their instructor one day, and seeing him drunk definitely made him seem less scary and intimidating, which really ruined about half of his training tactics. )

So Thursday is Valentine's day!

I'm so excited because I've never had a boyfriend on Valentine's day before and this is so exciting! I mean, it doesn't matter how pretty you are if you're alone, right? I mean, Valentine's Day still sucks if you're all alone.

And my boyfriend is definitely the best of all the boyfriends out there, so I'm sure we're going to have a great time.

What is everyone else doing for Valentine's day? And what are all you poor single people doing?

One person called me Sugar the entire time. He didn't ask for my number or suggest sexual positions. I'm very easily mistakable in this body. It has lots of body clones of human origins.

So is this football, super-bowl thing really that great?

So ... I thought maybe being a part-time climbing instructor would be fun but it's not, really. I haven't even gotten the job yet and the activity is already monotonous. It feels like I'm just going through the actions and I'd really just like to do something I enjoy, something that makes me feel alive. I feel bad that people here think we're stealing their jobs and I don't want to take a job away from anyone but I want to do more than just go to class, no matter how much I enjoy my classes even though Peter's there, too.

How are you all picking jobs? I mean, we don't all come from places where the jobs around here are the norm, right? So I'm sure other people are having the same issue I am. I just feel like if I'm stuck here, I still need to be doing something that matters.

This city is never ending in it's amazing things to go see and find. I visited the Central Park Zoo, yesterday, and spent the morning meandering through the park today. It's lovely here, the carriages are amazing and despite my lack of excitement early on, I am glad I am here. It's lovely, and an adventure, which is more than amazing, honestly. I am glad that there is so much to do here.

Don't get me wrong -- the protesters are annoying as all hell. But.

Last night I discovered this website. Apparently it was all figured by the person who wrote the series about my dad so color me intrigued. I signed up. I was given a wand that was actually pretty wicked close to my own wand. Then I this morning I got to Hogwarts because I fell asleep. And then I was sorted into Slytherin.

Slytherin.

What is that? Clearly this website needs to be fixed up because clearly I am not a Slytherin because clearly the actual Sorting Hat put me in Gryffindor which is where I belong.

Or maybe I am a Slytherin. Oh Merlin. I don't even know who I am anymore. I'm having an existential crisis.

These people are starting to get really annoying. I didn't ask to be here- none of us did. We're not stealing anything. But it is sort of more- They should probably all be happy they didn't end up in our worlds.

So I finally got a job at the Anytime Fitness near the Tower. About damn time someone hired me. It's cool, too, because I spend most of my time there anyway.

My name is Edward Cullen. As pleasurable as it would to live among you, I'm in a hurry to get home. Bell I'm needed there. Is anyone aware of how to make this possible? The SHIELD organization have been forthcoming with what I need to know.

The Capitol has really pulled out all the stops on this one. Strangest game diversion I've ever seen, and I've watched almost all of them in my training. I've got to admit that this new arena is extraordinary. It's almost believable.

Honestly, this $1000 stipend is pretty generous. I paid for my upcoming Climbing Wall Instructor course, bought a few new items to wear, a used music player, a painting for the apartment, shoes, a small Christmas tree and gifts and I still have plenty left. Maybe I'm just good at finding good deals? I've never had to really worry about money before and we used a different system in Dauntless so perhaps I'm just more reticent to spending a lot. Either way, it's really kind of Stark to provide the allowance. I'm trying to put it to the best use I can.

Classes are really great, though very different than both the schooling I had back home and the initiation I had in Dauntless. I'm enjoying it, though. Aside from the fact that Peter and I signed up for too many of the same classes.

I'd like to go home but I have to admit, this place isn't as awful as I first suspected. Amidst the noise and chaos, there's something almost exciting adventurous liberating about this world.

So I was watching the news tonight, and there was a story about how it's pretty impossible to travel from New York to Chicago because of a storm in the "mid-west". Snow this time of the year sounds about right, doesn't it?

Anyway, I was thinking- obviously not now, but would you want to travel to Chicago sometime? I have a feeling it will probably be somewhat similar to New York, in that it will be really different and strange. Still, a lot of the buildings look more or less the same, and I think it could be really interesting.

I guess we'd have to save up money too.

It amazes me that Muggles are so consumed with spending beyond their means that there are numerous multibillion dollar companies whose business model relies on the interest generated by charging the people who are unable to pay off the bills collected on their credit cards.

Is it really that rampant? I can scarcely imagine it.
