So just finished reading the book I'm in, finally. As weird as it was reading the stuff from my point-of-view, it was even weirder reading stuff from the people I know. Like now I know how Jericho's stuck on me, and I think I am too at the end?? That's just great- And then like, there are even people I don't know, but I'm weirdly connected to and stuff. Like this one guy came to my Uncle's museum and then just bolted out one day, had no clue who he was, but apparently he's a big character in the book too and is all goofy for one of my friends. Who woulda thought.

It was pretty alright reading though, over all.

In other news, the talk show people had stuff about the presidents on today for Presidents Day. Pretty jazzed that not only will there be an Irish-Catholic president, but that he'll be ranked the number two sexiest president of all time. Not really sure why Teddy Roosevelt came in first though...

People sure get their panties in a twist over a little murder here.

Seriously though, I googled him. His body count is like barely double digits. That's like complete wuss numbers compared to a majority of Potts Towers residents. Probably racked a higher count on my first day on Pandora.

Is it because he's not like hot or something?

So Thursday is Valentine's day!

I'm so excited because I've never had a boyfriend on Valentine's day before and this is so exciting! I mean, it doesn't matter how pretty you are if you're alone, right? I mean, Valentine's Day still sucks if you're all alone.

And my boyfriend is definitely the best of all the boyfriends out there, so I'm sure we're going to have a great time.

What is everyone else doing for Valentine's day? And what are all you poor single people doing?

I have to say, I wasn't terribly interested in listening to Harding and Coolidge's inaugural speeches, and I was probably too young for Wilson's...possibly too young, really, at least for Harding. It's a lot different though when you can actually watch it and see Washington, the Capitol, Washington and Lincoln monuments...and of course the actual people. I'm looking forward to watching this and hearing President Obama speak for the first time! I know you're all probably used to this by now, but coming from 1926, it's reassuring to hear about some of the progress we've made, about how you don't need to be a WASP to become president (and maybe eventually a woman will be elected too), to learn about Dr. King Jr., and so on. I've heard a lot of gloomy things about the future. I'm glad it's not all like that. Not to mention, our first Irish-Catholic president was sort of a hunk, huh?

So I went to go see one of those newfangled pictures today- color film is really the cat's pajamas! I think I still prefer the pictures that were out in my day, but it was still really nifty. It looked so real! Seeing all this new technology is pretty exciting, but New York just isn't the same anymore, and it makes me feel sort of nostalgic.

I did see a ducky trailer though that gave me a little taste of home. This is more like the city I knew. I hope I'll still be here to see this! I suppose in the mean time I could actually pick up and read Mr. Fitzgerald's book. It only came out about a year ago in my time, and I've had a lot going on lately. How exciting to hear that it became a classic! The Fitzgeralds are positutely the bees knees. My mom's side of the family are Fitzgeralds. I like to think they must be related somehow, but honestly, my mother is nowhere near as exciting as they are, so I'm not sure it's possible.

I think I'm going to give these new sorts of 'clubs' a whirl if anyone wants to come. It's berries to hear that Prohibition was repealed. Bit of an annoyance that whole twenty-one years of age thing, but luckily I just so happen to be 104 years old, so I should be fine.

So this place still sucks. But at least my job doesn't suck. It shocks me, though, the kind of pathetic-ass people who come into the gym. Like, this fat-ass woman came in the other day and wanted me to teach her how to use all the equipment and shit, and all I could think was a) dammit, her fat ass was going to break all the machines, and I was going to have to calibrate the fucking stuff again, and b) I so would have taken out the pathetic bitch at the Cornucopia. What the hell, seriously.

I wanted to tell her that she'd be better off just walking her lazy ass down the street or what the fuck ever since she wasn't going to be able to do shit until she lost some of her nasty fat rolls. Or maybe tell her a few less hot dogs and burgers a night might help. Disgusting shit. But I didn't. See, I'm learning to be less of an ass. But I've never seen anyone like that before, and hope I never do again.

Well OK. I gUess I can skiip the den ial part of this procesS, since I am very obvi--ously in the future.

This futuristic typewriter IS so

o much m ore diffIcult to type wi th-

Oh, but you can just go back and delete your errors? Well, isn't that ducky! Sure saves a lot of time. I'm still going at a snail's pace here, since I don't use the typewriter very often, but when I did, it was hopeless mess. I think I'll just leave those at the beginning for humor's sake.

Really though, wow. It took me hours to figure out this network thing, and it will probably be another hour by the time I'm doing writing all this out. Nevermind the stuff outside! Some things are familiar, but others look positutely out of this world. Even the lemon squeezer seemed different. A lot smoother, actually, I have to admit.

It's nice to be in New York still, but I don't know. Even with all these whosee-whatsits, it just seems like it's missing its edge. I am way too young though to be gabbing about the 'good old days'...well I guess I'm technically too young. I'm technically 17, but that's not what my birth certificate will tell you.

Oh, anyway, I'm Evie O'Neill, and I don't know from nothing what's going on. I sort of suspect I might have gotten myself into this pickle, but then, I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHY YOU ARE ALL HERE TOO, SORT OF LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHY ALL OF THE LETTERS ARE SO BIG ALL OF A SUDDEN- HOW DO I MAKE THIS STOP?

Hi Sam. Could I have a couple days free? Sunday Monday Tuesday. My present day and place culture class is going to see the inauguration! I want to go. I can work double shifts beforehand or afterward. If that helps. I've never seen a leader sworn in before. It's supposed to be peaceful too. No dead bodies. Thank you, for thinking about it. It's short notice. Shorter if any of us disappear. But I'm coming back, I assume. I'm acting like it.

Thank you! They were delicious. I enjoyed them. Are you feeling hopeful still? There's a clinic open now. The doctors are from different universes. They could help. I like talking with you.

I might be gone a couple days. Washington DC. Presidential inauguration. Have you ever been, John? Will you two be okay without me, while I'm gone? I'll miss you.
Why is human color so important? It's listed as racism, and I've read about human events in the past, but it doesn't explain why racism. Cranial size doesn't correlate to intelligence. Skin color in humans is pigment. I'd understand if humans hated gorillas or chimpanzees or orangutans for being other species, other races. But other humans, for being human? Logic doesn't follow. How are the president's daughters satanic spawn? A series of google searches explained drone strikes, which explains the charge of a murderous bastard [reference: President Barack Obama's mother unmarried at time of birth]. Who prays for more dead soldiers? What did homosexuals ever do to them?

Racism doesn't make sense.

Hello, everyone. My name is Virginia Potts. I'm better known as (and answer to) the moniker that Tony gave me many years ago, Pepper.

I wanted to take a moment to welcome you all to the Refugee Network. Tony Stark - as well as many others - created the network so you would have a safe space to talk without the prying eyes of the media. I'd like to give them a warm thank you for their hard work.

Some of you have been here for a while, and as of today, the Tesseract has given us more refugees than it has in the previous five months, and it's still going. I'd like to take a moment to thank the hard-working men and women of S.H.I.E.L.D. for their diligence and perseverance. Without their quick thinking when refugees began to appear, this would have been nearly impossible for any one of us to handle.

And on that note, Director Fury has asked me to pass along the message that they are in dire need for Administrative Staff to help with processing. Anyone who is interested can pass on a note to your Housing Assistant.

Speaking of, there should be one Housing Assistant per two floors (and in one case, three floors). Should you require any assistance, they should be able to help you. Potts Tower is not a new building, but we have gutted it, given it an ARC reactor for clean energy, a full service gym in the basement, an outdoor patio and pool area, and an entertainment area. We plan to utilize all of these areas in the upcoming holiday season in the hopes that it helps alleviate some of the melancholy of being without your families.

Once again, welcome to the Refugee Network and Potts Tower, and I look forward to getting to know you.

-Virginia Potts
