I'd like to inform you, dear sister, that just because I have started teaching and now have a job, does not mean that I will not be eating lunch and dinner at your place. Cooking is an extremely long and boring task. I will, however, provide for takeout whenever you want.
No mentioning that I somehow happen to work at the same spot as our esteemed father.
I feel as if it has been some time since we had last conversed. How are things, Professor?
How have you been managing teaching without the urge to throttle any of the students? I imagine it would be such a difficult task for you.
So we've had a few more appear recently, and I have had a chance to touch base with our contractors since returning from Asgard so thought we should touch base on the status of the building.
For those who are new here, Logan acquired us a building in Brooklyn which we have been fixing up for several months in the hopes of establishing a new and independent home similar to the Jean Grey School. And it is now almost habitable. It has electricity and plumbing, and Sage, before she left got it hooked up to city networks. We've done an amazing job on what was essentially a crack house six months ago and I think we should look into when we would like to move in and start partitioning space and purchasing furniture.
On, a less happy note, the Danger Room project has stalled. Without Kitty or Sage here, I'm not certain that we have the computer skill set to establish one here. (No offense intended, Hank). Should we perhaps reach out to someone in the Tower as I do think a Danger Room would be an asset to our training efforts.
Finally, does anyone wish to return to Asgard and fight with them?
You work for SHIELD. I need you to do something for me.
Because this game is massive, and even if every character just sent ONE package to anyone, it would end up being 300+ posts in the community. So to save our friends lists from imploding, we the moderators are asking that you fill out this form and reply HERE. It'll make it easier to find (Control-F is a lovely thing!) and we won't have to abuse our scroll button. Here's how we're going to do it. You will post for one character with everything that they got for their friends/family/etc. Make sure to tag your character and all the characters that yours gave gifts too as soon as you get their information up! |
» The tesseract gave me the best present.
» Remember my mom's holoempathic crystal?
» Happy birthday to me.
» I don't know if you're familiar with these since in our world, Mom didn't die as Phoenix.
» But the Shi'ar have a technology called a holoempathic crystal. Kind of a psychic imprint of a soul.
» They made one of Jean in the other world, for my grandparents. I added myself to it, and I kept it for awhile.
» I just got it back.
» Thought you might be curious to know.
As it appears that we shall several young people taking part in this battle to aid Asgard, we should focus on making certain that we bring them back safely and that they are prepared as one can be for this fight.
While we have been keeping up a training regimen here, it has been far more casual than back home. We do not have a Danger Room here, which means we are limited so far as running simulations, but I have been able to acquire a SHIELD training facility upstate from this world's Fury. It will be free of civilians and under the provision that we do not interfere with any equipment or information therein and that we allow ourselves to be evacuated if necessary. This weekend I intend to bring it a winter which would make the Nine Realms pale.
I can bring the storm, but I am asking for aid in bringing the fight and the guidance on the ground. I am also opening this exercise to any young people you know who are intent on fighting, though not particularly wishing to advertise it among them. I've rented Scott's bus.
I have particular favors to ask of you.
Given the amount of children here with no small combat experience under their belts, and already volunteering to Fandral, this is a matter we need to address and quickly.[Filtered to parents of Next Avengers (Steve Rogers (both), Natasha Romanova, Natasha Romanoff, Jan van Dyne, Hank Pym, Thor, Sif)]
I am filtering you all somewhat preemptively, but I do not feel this discussion is far off for my son. And I imagine the same is true for yours. We need to decide what we are going to say to our children about participating in this war and present a united front on that. They are all headstrong enough that I doubt a simple "no" will suffice.[Filtered to X-Men over 18]
I will be aiding Asgard as they have aided me in the past. While is is not something I am attempting to involve any of you with, I can think of no team I would rather have at my side. If anyone is interested in going, we shall go as a team.
I'm not the best advocate for family holidays, but since we're essentially family- in some universe or another, I believe I should at least offer that we do something together.
Hanukkah party?
All right guys, so we're setting up the Avengers & X-Men Thanksgiving Extravaganza for Wednesday, November 27th at 6pm. That way we're not taking away from anyone's holiday experiences with family, but it's close enough that we can all celebrate together.
That said, I need some potluck-ers to help me out with the side dishes & desserts. If you can't make anything, pitching in for catered sides would be all right, too. Either way, I can't afford to front the whole thing myself -- as much as I would absolutely love to -- so bring it on.
I can't wait to see you all.
I hope you do not mind the small plug for the ESD, Rachel. It always feels so anti-social posting only a private filter.[Filtered to X-Men + friendly mutants]
I have been speaking with Janet van Dyne, the Wasp of the Avengers of my world, and it has been suggested, and I wholly agree, that we should focus on building bridges between our teams here. She and I have decided to have a Thanksgiving dinner. Open to both groups, from all worlds. This invitation has already gone out to the Avengers. It would be a gesture of good faith if we made a decent showing. If actual Thanksgiving day does not work, we could do the day before or after.
I realise in the past, in my world, if not others, the X-Men and the Avengers have not always agreed upon what was right or how to handle particular situations. However, ultimately we have always had the same goals: protection of the world and its individuals and a commitment to our belief of what is right. Both of our teams have taken severe losses in the past few months, and perhaps our strength is not be found in standing entirely separate, but in rekindling friendships.
If anyone has strong feelings otherwise, please speak up, but I do feel that this could be a rare chance to extend olive branches, even they may be only for our time here.
I have managed to find a physician in the city. She can consult in three weeks.
