Today my mini me is six months old. I can't believe it. Has it really been six months already? Are we really sure it's July? This place can be weird and I would not be surprised if time became a little screwed up. Though we do have the Doctor here. He's a great guy to have around. Anyway, Noah's a six month old and before I know it he will be on the move.

[Floors 7 & 8]

A big hello for those of you newly arrived. I'm Rick Castle and I'm your Housing Assistant. If there is anything you need, feel free to stop by 810. I am almost always here to help you out.

It's weird not having a roommate anymore. I miss Mikasa.

[Alexis]

If the political activism seminar happens, want to go with me? Do you have any plans for the summer?

[info]loveandjustice

Yesterday was such an AWESOME day! I am done with school! I will miss it though because I still have no idea what I want to do and being in school meant I didn't have to worry. Anyway, yesterday was also awesome because anyone can get married now! That's really exciting!

And my birthday is in a few days!

Back in New York again for a day and already I've gotten, 'Happy Anniversary to you, Doctor!' Blimey. Ten years, is it? Suppose I ought to stick around the city much longer and see what other things I've missed.

You know, 2015's not so bad. Coming from 1998, there's a bit of an adjustment period, but the advances the world has made -- socially and technologically -- were far beyond what anyone from 1998 could have anticipated, I think. My mum used to say the world was moving at such a fast pace, that it wouldn't be long until we were all living like they do in Star Trek.

It was quite the funny thing to say to me when I was a little girl. People talking on mobiles seemed so ridiculous; I thought that computers could never become a device for social connections. And there's not a thing in this world that would have convinced me the steps toward equality would be taken in such larger strides.

Yet here we are, in 2015. People use their mobile phones compulsively -- even I've caught myself a few times! We use these computers and these tablets like they're part of us, because they are. And there are men and women from every walk of life whose stories are not just printed but they are heard around the world through these amazing little devices. I can look up almost anything I want without having to dig through book after book -- and while I do miss the musty, warm feeling of a good old book, I am completely in love with how quickly I can find things. I can read about anything from the statistical studies of supernova remnants, to the ever-changing political climates of the world, without worrying about digging through shelves.

Nothing is perfect, of course. 2015 is all at once terrifying and amazing. Leaving my home behind was not what I wanted, nor is it something I am entirely used to yet. I miss my family, and all my other friends. But I'm grateful to have come to a place where I can enjoy the wonders of a future I hadn't considered possible.

[Texts to Alexis Castle]
>> Father's Day is Sunday, though I'm sure you know that.
>> You weren't here for it last year, so I wasn't sure if you and Castle have any traditions that you usually follow. So you tell me what you want to do, and we'll make it happen.
>> Though I have at least one gift in mind that I think you'll both enjoy. And me, as well.

I think I kind of miss being older me. :( Felt more like people actually listened to you more because you weren't a teenage girl, which is crap because "teenage girl" doesn't mean that anything we have to say is frivolous and dumb.

Also, you know.. I kind of felt more stronger in general.

Someone should come see Pitch Perfect 2 with me. Yes?

Friends
If any of you say no you better have a damn good reason, just saying :)

I met a very adorable five year old today on my lunch break who is adamant that I'm his girlfriend and that he's way more fun than my husband.

You better watch out, Castle. Your days might just be numbered.

[Alexis]

We need to have more days like this weekend. I propose that at least once a month (which should definitely mean more), we need to have movie night.

Did you see whose back?

[Violet]

How are you settling in?

I was wandering around a lovely second-hand bookstore today, and I found this poem in a collection. It really stuck with me.

“Dear Future You,
Hold on. Please.
Love, Me.

Dear Current You,
I’m holding on. But it hurts.
Love, Me.

Dear Past You,
I held on. Thank you.
Love, Me.”
— Iain Thomas, I Wrote This For You

[Logan + Ororo]
I need some advice, if you don't mind...

How do y'all deal with the stress that comes from knowing when your show is coming back? I really don't think I can handle watching myself on TV and not being able to do anything. Maybe I'll visit Mr. Lee Daniels and make sure he don't get cute.

001.

This is so weird...

[info]parrviolet

Come on! I had a Chemistry test tomorrow.

I was told writing on here would be good way to introduce myself, and if this really is a kidnapping, at least they want me to make friends.

Hi, I'm Violet.

SAM WINCHESTER:

Weird shit Cas has done this week:
» Rearranged every book in the house by subject matter. It's not the Dewey Decimal System. I have no idea what it is. I asked and still don't know how he did it, but he seems happy about it.
» Moved everything in Hannah's room into the living room, then into the kitchen, then back into Hannah's room. He refuses to throw anything out. (That's not weird, it's just kind of inconvenient and sad.)
» Discovered Jeopardy. Is convinced it's a teaching tool for human culture and watches it every day. Has become so insanely competitive that I don't watch it with him anymore.
» Watched porn. Tried to have a philosophical discussion about the storyline. This conversation did not end in sex.
» When I couldn't explain things in a way that made him happy, he went to ask the rabbit his opinion. As far as I know, Princess had nothing productive to say either.
» Found a bookstore nearby with a 50cent bin and brings home books from it at least every other day, to be organized with the aforementioned weirdo classification. Pretty sure I now own at least one book about a serial killing babysitter.

I should write a book or start a twitter, clearly.

CASTIEL:
Hey. You want to get out of here for a while?

This being a full time student thing is pretty crazy, yet fantastic all at the same time. I get weird looks a lot when I mention the classes I'm taking to anyone else, even some of the staff and all. But science just comes naturally to me, I guess, in general.

How does this free vacation time in the summer thing work again?

[Alexis]

Two things.

1. I have been thinking about watching my show for a few months now. Random people keep talking to me about the decisions I make in my future and I am frustrated that I have no idea what they are talking about. Plus when I was on my Buzzfeed binge, there were many posts about the show and I was tempted to read them but didn't. I think I have made my decision about watching it, the pros outweigh the cons, but I wanted to know your opinion because you watch your show?

2. Want to hang out this weekend?

This is an interesting development. Any idea how long this will last?

So things I've come to learn. Americans are rubbish with tea. Honestly. Where can I find a good cup of tea around here?

Apparently your heroes all run around in tights and iron suits. Right. Where were all of you when that no-nosed idiot was threatening our lives?

Muggles do have the most interesting ideas on how to adjust without magic. It's taken a bit, but I've been reasoning out a few things here. Like the television, or I guess as it's called in England, the telly. Works wonders for someone who's developed insomnia.

[Filtered private to Harry Potter-verse People]

Assuming I've done this bloody thing right. Are we going to acknowledge the very Muggle and American holiday coming up later this month? It was always custom when I was growing up for Mum to host parties.
