And now I'm happy to announce that this year, I've knocked her up and am gonna be a dad! We're thinking of naming the baby in question Sharknado Superman Montoya-Williams. And we accept congratulatory checks made out to CASH.

Parker, remind me. That's the second time I've been comatose when everyone's in trouble, isn't it?

I really could have done without that becoming a recurring thing.

Christ, I never like feeling like I've been hit by a mack truck. Little hair of the dog oughta fix me right up.

That is an experience I never want to go through again.

A lot's been said about sunsets, but I always liked early mornings. I can't remember how many times I'd stay up just long enough to see the sun rise, and people start their days. New York's not as quiet as Sleepy Hollow was, but mornings still have the same feel. I guess it's that every morning's a new start, and I had no idea what would happen, but nothing bad had happened yet, so I could imagine... maybe this time, things would turn out better. Later - after I met Crane, go figure - I started to dread sunsets. That meant we were running out of time. Sunrise meant we'd survived to see another day. We got a new start. So maybe I was onto something when I was a girl after all.

Or maybe breakfast tastes better when you've been up all night.

I can say that I do miss the spring.

Spring in Arendelle was quite a sight and one that I am going to miss. I fear I'm also missing Anna's birthday...and her wedding. Neither of which I intended to miss. Not after all of those missed years and the time lost being apart.

There's little I can do about it here, I know. That doesn't make it any easier.

It's interesting how we settle for starting over here. I know we don't have much choice, but our lives, our careers, get upended and we deal with starting over because, what, we haven't put in the time here? No way to prove it? After a while, it starts to get easier to forget it was any other way. And then one day you find out you get to call yourself detective again, and you get excited like it's the first time. And in a way, it is. And then you remember how far behind you are now, and the promotion feels more like you're being held back, and you've been held back your entire life, so why the hell are you letting it happen now?

Still. It's nice to hear. And I'd rather be here than in 1781.
