Last night, Alexei Systevich was taken into custody in connection with the recent Oscorp armored carjacking and theft. While the NYPD declined the Bugle’s request for comment, it is clear that they think they have their man. An source close to the action, however, had his doubts about the arrest. Systevich, while not innocent, may be less culpable than the authorities would have you believe. “Spider-man was there,” the source, who wishes to remain anonymous, disclosed in a recent interview. “Several of him, I think. It was suspicious as s—t, man.” While the police are understandably eager to bring a swift close to this case, their reluctance to investigate every lead is very concerning to the folks at the Daily Bugle. Credible reports of a powerful Spider-Cabal highjacking armored vehicles and stealing weapons-grade plutonium for nefarious purposes have received no attention from the NYPD.
