Time moves so strangely here. I keep almost saying I just got here, but in like two months it'll be a year.

I haven't traveled (to other countries OR worlds) nearly as much as I expected to when I showed up, but I hear that if patterns continue that might change soon.

I thought I was seeing things, but then I realized I wasn't and I think I just got pranked by a goose? This has been a thoroughly terrible day.

Pity that nobody really celebrates Twelfth Night. Not like they used to.

Is there any house in this town that doesn't have a pool? I saw one street that appeared to be in competition for which one was the largest and most garish.

Dec. 21st, 2019

Every December I've not had to set foot in the foul damp that's London I've considered an escape worthy of being celebrated, and I'm very happy to report that this will make nine in a row. This year I have much more to celebrate than avoiding a chill, so please allow me to introduce myself by expressing my gratitude at finding myself here. It seems a wonderful sort of place, and while I've no doubt I'll make a perfect fool of myself sooner rather than later, I do that in the city, too. I hate to begin by begging everyone's patience, but it won't be the first time, nor the last. I can only assure you I do my best to be a quick learner.

The sushi at a restaurant that also serves gyros, wings and subs can't be all that good.

Things have been horrible, but at least I have this. Choosing a ringtone is going to be so hard.

I think that I've had enough of this bullet wound, if your offer is still open.

Did anyone else watch the eclipse today?

Aug. 19th, 2017

I keep imagining that I will get used to all the unusual events here, but I have yet to actually do so.

If anyone wants to try out a web hammock, let me know. They're pretty comfy, but they're not going to last a whole night. Every little bit helps though, right?

Well, I suppose the library isn't the worst place to spend my time. Even if it is far more boring than I anticipated. Shelving books just isn't how I pictured my life. At least it's quiet and people rarely bother me.

[Private to Vanessa]
In actuality, I hate being forced to do this or at least feeling I am. I know the point is to benefit society, but I honestly have little care for society or much of anything these days, which is exhausting and surprising all at once. I dislike being at odds with everything, but I am more aware of the world at large and things I was able cover up before. Also I have made acquaintance with a werewolf, which is unsettling due to other situations which were never particularly good to begin with

How have you been doing? I've meant to check in sooner, but I haven't been much myself. I hope no one in the town has been giving you much trouble. I don't know how to How's E How is Mr. Chandler?

As the humidity grows, so too do the celebrations of freedom and statehood. Is there such a thing as a measure of the percentage of statehood to the percentage of humidity? Inquiring minds, I suppose.

You're tired, I know. We've been working so terribly hard but I think you'll see that you'll be pleased with the results. Theatre transports people into all sorts of glorious places and the good news, for we Displaced, you won't have to be caught in a portal to do it.

I've procured another 50 yards of muslin, a can of ochre paint and a set of finer rapiers for the Capulets. Please don't break this set with your excitement.

I am also opening up Romeo for anyone who would like to give me a very fine reason for playing him. Gender is no matter.

What is a suitable form of employment for a lady in these times?

Well, I suppose I can at least say that I had no inclination toward unusual behavior. Then again, some might argue that I already I have spent most of my time here catching up on medical advances since I last recall them. Not that it will do me any good as I doubt they will permit me to do anything with

I'm considering a job working at the morgue - nevermind, this is suspicious In some ways they have accomplished quite a deal, but in others practically nothing.

The music of the day leaves much to be desired, but I doubt it stops there. The electricity, however

I am in need of assistance from someone with a great deal of power. A witch, if possible.

Miss Ives, would you like to accompany me to dinner this evening?
Added later

I need you to do me a favor.

These people call themselves doctors, but they are certainly lacking. And this contraption is senseless. This entire situation is entirely ridiculous. Quarantine? To protect from what disease, might I ask? No one seems forthcoming. I know how to take care of myself. I'm a doctor. Not that anyone here seems to care.

May. 29th, 2017

I wasn't going to bother with saying anything until I was actually out of quarantine, but then I remembered how boring it got in here and I figured I should probably just say hello anyway. This is Inej Ghafa. Again, I guess. I still have two days left in here, but I am here.

So, hello.

Hello. I know you don't know me, but I was told to contact you. My previous guardian is no longer here, so I'm in need of a new one and they suggested you. I'm sorry if this is awkward and I can look for someone else if needed, if you'd rather not.

Now that I have been freed from detainment, I thought I should take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Vanessa Ives. I hail from England, but I am quite excited for this foray onto American soil.
