Hello. I was told there are people in here and I should say hello.

Can you hear me?

Feb. 1st, 2020

I don't know what all you people are complaining about. SPACE! Think of the possibilities!

Personally, I would love to go to Milliways (otherwise known as the Restaurant at the End of the Universe) to try a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. Who knows, maybe we'll visit Naboo? Or wind up on Knowhere? Too bad I probably won't be able to take the TARDIS.

Sure, there's bound to be danger and trouble, but we have that here, too, don't we?

So who's got two thumbs and isn't terribly attached to either of them? Hopefully you guys.

WWW is looking for volunteers for a side project.

You know, I lived in Seattle for my entire life, and I never got seasonal depression until I came here. Land of the overcast days with a little rain. It doesn't rain the way you think it does there. It's more like... half the year, but it's like misting. Drizzle. It doesn't last long. Maybe I'm used to it and that makes this span of NO RAIN harder for me?

Semi-late night thoughts by Liv Moore.

I think it's going to be a sleepless night.

I've been thinking about spring break. I know it's still a couple months away, but I really want a good spring break away from Tumbleweed. Somewhere I've never been that's really brilliant to see. I've got a TARDIS and a portal that won't let me travel to other worlds or time, so that's limiting.

I thought about Everest, but I'm not sure there's a spot to land her. Then I thought about the Mojave, and that just seemed really cool for a bit, but then it's just sand. Ideally, I'd like to DO something. I'm not really a beach person — at least not the lying on the beach, tanning sort of beaches. British skin. Tends to burn.

What's your favourite place on this planet?

So, Hermione and I are having a baby. And oh, guess what? She's here, and she's three. Say hi to Rose Weasley. Weasley-Granger? Granger-Weasley? Something of the Weasley and/or Granger variety.

Gifts, well-wishes, babysitting commitments, and a clue as to what the hell we're doing accepted.

We could always use another pair of hands at the shop, yeah? Give us a break from manning the register all day? Someone to test product ideas on?

Still wanna work in a magical joke shop?

Jan. 2nd, 2020

I'm curious to know whose hiring around here? I keep putting it off but I really ought to find work. I'm not sure what's around for someone who spent about a year traveling around time and space meeting aliens.

Maybe I should think about going back to sch-

Right then, might as well say Hello!

I'm The Doctor. Seems I've accidentally found myself here and the people at the Bureau were rather rude when I told them it couldn't be impossible to send me back.

Dec. 26th, 2019

Oh well. At least Father Christmas was polite about not getting me what I asked for.

Dec. 21st, 2019

Every December I've not had to set foot in the foul damp that's London I've considered an escape worthy of being celebrated, and I'm very happy to report that this will make nine in a row. This year I have much more to celebrate than avoiding a chill, so please allow me to introduce myself by expressing my gratitude at finding myself here. It seems a wonderful sort of place, and while I've no doubt I'll make a perfect fool of myself sooner rather than later, I do that in the city, too. I hate to begin by begging everyone's patience, but it won't be the first time, nor the last. I can only assure you I do my best to be a quick learner.

Network Post: Sabé

Padmé has it in her head that I need to meet about a dozen of you as her close friends and family, just for starters, and then she probably has another few dozen after that. I'm not surprised she's made many friends so quickly since she's famous for her people skills, but I think she forgets I'm not naturally as social as she is. I don't really know what to say or how to introduce myself except: hello, I'm Sabé. I've known Padmé half my life since entering her service as handmaiden. I'm from Naboo, of course.

Thank you again to Elizabeth Swann for giving me the crash course on this world. That had to be a strange thing to do for someone who inexplicably looks like you.

Dec. 14th, 2019

I really should crack down and start looking for a job.

Dec. 3rd, 2019

Anyone got big plans for the holidays?

I'm bringing down tea and biscuits. I'll leave them at the door on a tray. They're the proper ones with chocolate.

I'm going to learn everything I need to know about the upcoming holidays from the new season of Nailed It.

Nov. 30th, 2019

Would anyone like to go see the lights tonight as a group?

Nov. 29th, 2019

I'd say I'm far too young to be this stressed if I wasn't the cause of 85% of it. I'm intrigued, amused but if I'm being honest, a little frustrated.

Right, so stuck in the States, but a different Earth. No surprise there, but I hope this one doesn't include the overuse of Zeppelins.

Hi, my name's Rose.

Well... I daresay I'm not terribly fond of being caged, for better or worse. Do very much prefer my own box, thank you very much. Not much of a welcome, is it? About as good as this introduction, hah! Was that rude? Might have been rude to those that fetched me, I do apologise.

Anyway, hello! I'm the Doctor! Can't remember the last time I was in Texas. How's that then? Got loads more research to do before I pop off more questions on here, suppose.

Go on! What's there to do in this town I've not ever heard of in all my travels? And where is my ship now?

Mar. 3rd, 2018

Considering I think I was about to get stabbed in the gut, this is a welcome change. I guess. I think. I don't know. I'll decide once they let me out of quarantine. Either way, looks like I'm going to be here for awhile.

Might as well introduce myself. I'm Laurel Lance.

I'm fine.

Feb. 22nd, 2018

Hello! I haven't had a reason to use this network thingie for a while, been too TOO busy. Anything interesting happen while I've been away?

Oh, and I might've misplaced River Song somewhere. Has anybody heard from her recently?

Feb. 13th, 2018

I'm never giving up this elf-wear. I want to stay this tall forever. It's like being a tree or a bear. Hello, little people! No wonder everyone's always patting my head.

Alright ladies. The day of love is coming up, and as Rose and I have found ourselves quite single I've decided we ladies should have a night out. What say you all? Who's up for a spa day and treating ourselves as though we are royalty?

Anyone catch what the movie by the pool is playing tonight?

Might head back to bed for a couple of hours, I woke up early and caught the sun rising. To anyone that hasn't done that yet, I highly recommend it. The view was pretty spectacular.

Feb. 2nd, 2018

Well I have put together a new information pamphlet for new arrivals, but since it's the medbay robots dealing with them instead of the military and our own representatives delivery might be a little spotty. Hopefully people will get them, but we'll see.

That was five beeps, right? I checked there was no one new so that means they're all disappearances. It might be easier to comment here if you notice someone missing rather than make half a dozen new posts about it.

Has anyone seen Angela since our arrival here?

Since we've mostly got our battle plans sorted I want to talk about evacuations as well. There's getting to be a lot of us and in a crisis things get confusing so knowing in advance what to do will go a long way to making sure it goes right.

• Almost all the time when an evacuation alert goes out there's not going to be time to do much except get to the lifeboats on Deck 6. You should probably check where they are at some point so you know where you're going.
• A lot of us have pets and I know no one wants to leave them behind. If they're out with you that's not much of a problem but otherwise you should pick one person per suite to go and grab them if there's enough time. We have to be realistic that sometimes there won't be, and I'm not just saying that for everyone else - I always have at least my budgies that are confined to their cage and sometimes my Eevee stays behind too.
• Relatedly, Rogue suggested that it might be a good idea to pack a go bag for emergencies so that if there is a little more time you can grab it instead of trying to figure out in the moment what to bring. You shouldn't need to worry about food and things, so it's better to pack light so we don't take up too much space. A few clothes, medications, things you really don't want to leave behind.

Now the important bit, not leaving anyone behind. We need a way to know who's already boarded a lifeboat and who hasn't, which Tony should be able to do using the bracelets. (I'm assuming?) We also need a couple of people for each floor who can do a quick sweep to make sure everyone's left and to make sure the lifeboats are boarded efficiently. You will most likely be the last people to leave, so keep that in mind. For floors 1-4 and 7-10 that'll probably be banging on doors, for the others a quick check of all the public areas. Then when that's done, get to Deck 6 to help load.

I've only evacuated towns and cities before so please weigh in on any of this ^ if you think there's a better way of doing things. And if you want to be a floor monitor or floor captain or whatever, sign up here. 18+, minors should go directly to the lifeboats. Everyone else make sure you know who's responsible for the floors you spend most time on.

adding: Since each accommodation deck has their own lifeboat, based on Anakin's experience it's best to stick to what's been assigned. People responsible for clearing the matching floors will also have the final call on when to launch, even if someone's missing. So, make sure you have a decent idea of who should be there and make note of whether any of them are clearing public decks and can be expected to take a little longer. Tech, I'd still like a way to check people off as they board lifeboats if we can so we know if anyone hasn't turned up. The way people come and go it's going to be more reliable than memory.

Other things people have pointed out
• Make sure your floor coordinators know who's in charge of fetching pets so they can expect who'll be around
• There was talk about swimming lessons for anyone who doesn't know how which I would definitely recommend, having literally been marooned on a Caribbean island
• Gansey's going to check with the robots to see if there's a way to teach some people to row. We do have a couple people with water powers which would be the ideal but let's try not to rely on it.

My wife is a thief!

Some of you may already know that, but what she she stole from me is un-bearable

Image Under Cut )

Since we're talking about emergency plans, a message for the tech geeks. Dr Aphra and Ezekiel Jones are discussing a command centre to handle communications - both alerting everyone to emergencies and making sure no one gets cut off during an active situation. I'll also be there to keep track of the information we receive and assign tasks to mobile response units so we don't get some things being forgotten while too many people go somewhere else and I believe Charles will be with us as a telepath. If anyone has hardware or skills that would help, they're the two to talk to.

Personally speaking, I can work with a whiteboard or pencil and paper if I have to but coding an interactive map of the ship I can manipulate on a tablet would be more effective. I can do it myself but I know we have some coders around who might be able to do a better job.

Incidentally the Coffee Bar is actually ridiculously good. Let's not have aliens steal all our coffee this time.

Jan. 12th, 2018

They have ghost pepper hot sauce on this ship. I asked for a bottle, and they gave it to me. I can put it on everything without making it weird!

I am so glad that I signed up for schooling here. I can already tell I'm going to get incredibly bored without it. I'm not much of a drinker so "everywhere is also a bar" is a bit of a bummer for me. The library's a bit small, but it'll work, I think. Wish you could borrow books on a Kindle or something because I imagine I'm going to get bored with those books too. The downside of not needing to sleep.

DOCTOR (10):
Save some time for me tonight?
DOCTOR (12):
You should play some night when they do open mic night.
You got plans at 1 today?

It looks like John Watson and Sherlock Holmes have gone. I should probably specify from the BBC since I know there's more than one Sherlock here.

I have a hunch how you'll reply, but I'm going to ask regardless, are you alight?

Fɪʟᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ Tʜᴇ Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ (9ᴛʜ)
I think we should spend the day together, what do you think?

Jan. 7th, 2018

River, Nebula and I have searched this ship from stem to stern, scanning practically everything from the engine room to the AI crew, and I can write with 98% certainty that this is not an evil plot and we're perfectly safe.

The other 2% is wishful thinking.

Deck 5:
The main restaurant, the theatre we arrived in, a music hall, a couple of boutiques that sell clothes and toiletries and the like, and a casino.

Deck 6:
The concierge, lifeboats, bar/music hall, two cafes, and a restaurant.

Deck 11:
Two more restaurants, day care and school, a small library, and a spa facility.

Deck 12:
The big pool, several small bars, grills, a buffet, a cigar place, a kitchen hosting cooking lessons, another library, a games room, and movie screens.

Deck 13:
All kinds of fitness things.

1-4 and 7-10 are all accommodation, it looks like. Medical's right down the bottom.

Wow. The rooms here really look amazing. The view certainly is breathtaking.

Fɪʟᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ Cʟᴀʀᴀ Osᴡᴀʟᴅ
Hey, what room number are you and the Doctor in? I'm rooming with Ears in 812.

Fɪʟᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ Tʜᴇ Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ (9)
What are you doing right now? I thought maybe we could explore the ship together. Maybe we'll actually be able to relax once the suspicion wears off.

Stating the obvious aside: we've made another jump. Some of you remember (and would like to forget) the Prettiest Star space cruise ship. This one is on water this time. From what I can tell, it's a luxury cruise ship. Most of what I've seen seems familiar to cruise ships on Earth, but who knows so make sure you're careful until we know exactly what we're dealing with.

Check in on this post and see if your friends are here.

Hi kids, I'm back. Did I miss anything interesting?

Santa must've decided I was a good boy this year because I've got my Honda S2K back. It's been years since I last drove this car! Oh, and one of the Torchwood laptops was in the trunk.

oooh shiny )

My trousers are snug. This is unacceptable.

I've decided the problem with Tumbleweed is that it affords me far too much free time. I shall be remedying that. For Christmas I was gifted a piano, and while it had been a long while since I played, I was able to in no time at all. I've also been meaning to join that local gym.

"A New Year's resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to change an undesired trait or behavior, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their life." (Wikipedia)

Anyone got any good ones?

If a really dangerous criminal came through the portal, he wouldn't be released, right? They'd keep him detained?

Helena has requested that I show everyone her spaceship. Clara? Doctor? Evidently you're invited for tea.

We now officially have fourteen brooms ready for the Pitch. They were delivered on Christmas Eve. I'll be passing them onto my Uncle's for use in the pit but I figured there were a few individuals waiting to hear about them.

Thank you.

Is everyone still themselves? It appears people are suddenly changing into someone else.

Oh, hey there. Ignore the post I made last week. I was out of my head. Or at least more out of my head than normal. I'm doing better now.

Who broke the weather?

Dec. 10th, 2017

You may or may not have been aware that there was a bit of an incident concerning the Doctor some of you refer to as "Eyebrows." Some time ago, a neural block was used to alter his memory. Recently, the block began to fail, corrupting his memory in a general way to the point that drastic measures were necessary.

You will be pleased to know that Charles Xavier was able to remove the neural block entirely from the Doctor's mind. He has been placed in a healing coma in the Zero Room of his TARDIS, so we won't know how he's fared until after he awakens. But the Doctor wouldn't dare be anything other than alright if he knows what's good for him.

So. I hear there is a big old gathering tonight. And by hear, of course, I mean I saw all the hubbub of chatter about it. Suspect there'll be plenty of Harry Styles playing this evening? He was big in 2017, was he not? Or is this going to be more of a classical scene?

Oh. Suspect I should introduce myself as well. Right. Hullo. I'm the Doctor. Been here a couple days. Crazy weather you lot have been having. Raining cats and dogs now. Not ideal for a big party but nothing to be done about it, I suppose.

You didn't reach out. That mean everything's squared away, I hope.
