How is your recruitment going?

I've been thinking of making a post following up on last week's earthquake, but I wanted to get an opinion if it's maybe overstepping:

On the last several cruises or... world changes, we've had some degree of security / watch / etc. People have come together but it's kind of added to the chaos of our initial arrival trying to set up while everyone's sorting out our new environment, arrival procedures, and if/where everyone's loved ones are.

So I'd been thinking of posting to coordinate something like a meeting some 4-6 hours after arrival which gives people time to both assess our new situation and get their friends and family situated but also address security concerns expediently.

Is that just poking the bear? Would it read as too Bureau affiliated? It feels like a decent idea but, do you think it would be well-received?

I was thinking we should toss something together for people who are working tomorrow.

What sort of ridiculous garbage world are we even in?

We don't even have a real university.

I need five people — 3 women, 2 men — who are willing to try on a bunch of clothes and accessories and then get your picture taken. That's right! I need models!

I have several items I'm wanting to test how they move on people. Alterations will be necessary so I will need people who can come in multiple times.

Have you guys gotten all your classes yet? What are you going to take?
How do you feel about me maybe working some of my fabrics to get you a couple outfits so you can walk around in the sunlight?

I realized that I have not introduced myself, even though I've popped around to various posts. I'm Sergeant Amy Santiago, formerly of the NYPD and currently of the Tumbleweed Sheriff's Department. I arrived almost a month ago and would like to say that I am completely settled here, but that would be a lie. I'm not very good at lying, as Jake can attest, so it better not to ask me questions that you may not want to know my answer to.

I like stationery stores (of which there are none here), TED talks, documentaries, puzzles, and learning new things. I am a Type A personality, which means that I will most definitely get on your nerves so stuff it before I stuff you.

If you see my husband around, I recommend giving him attention, otherwise he will fight harder for it.

Why are there no good stationery or pen stores here?

Ianto has given the task of researching the records in town to two of our civilian reporters. He hopes it might help shed some light on various aspects of operations and give us more intel into what was created here. Plus more I'm sure.

How far have we gotten in accessing the older databases and file records that the military left behind?

GIVEN a cohesive and regulated appearance facilitates visual detection of outsiders, improving compound security.
GIVEN performance of similar tasks, uniform appearance, and adherence to structural regulations has been shown to accelerated in-group acceptance, leading to an increased sense of belonging
GIVEN adherance to uniform standards can increase attention to detail, sense of community, and personal pride in appearance
GIVEN this uniform appearance can increase the appearance of professionalism, contributing positively to corporate branding.
GIVEN that Resettlement Bureau personnel come into constant contact with an array of potentially foreign pathogens, clothing worn and processed in house limits risk of cross-contamination of the Tumbleweed community.
GIVEN that many Resettlement Bureau staff arrive with no access to outside finances beyond housing, affordable, professional clothing becomes a prime concern.

IT IS CONCLUDED that the establishment of a uniform would greatly benefit the Resettlement Bureau

IT HAS BEEN PROPOSED that designs by a displaced fashion designer, Ms. Janet van Dyne of [ADDRESS], could be considered as an economical means of designing and distributing uniforms while simultaneously uplifting a displaced person seeking capital for her own business.

In the interest of full disclosure, I do live with Ms. van Dyne. But I can speak to the quality of her work.

I thought it was supposed to be more back to the quiet side of things after we got back. I'm guessing that it's going to be closer to what's going on at the school. It's kind of nice to have my room here. Especially since it's And having work is nice, too.

Maria, do you think it's too late to apply for the Fall semester? Also what am I supposed to study here? Apparently Inhuman Biology is not part of any curriculum.

I have put together a report on the attack for review with suggestions for improvement and some of my own observations regarding what happened. Please take from it what you will. If you need anything further or additional clarification, just ask for my assistant Janet. She’s very helpful.

[Attached is about a 700 page PDF. It is an incredibly detailed but very technical, dry report of the attack. There are suggestions for improving escape routes, safety procedures, patrols, etc. But in addition to having a fairly accurate summary of the events of the fight, the report finds that nothing further could have been done to prevent the deaths of the two deceased and out of several thousand simulations run of the attack, it could have very easily been far worse. The report concludes that the number of deaths and injuries being as few as they were are a testiment to the skill, teamwork and dedication to those on the ship.]
