Do adults often engage in high school pranks against each other in this place?

[Lois Lane]

I believe I will take you up on your offer to stay, at least for a time.

Such a warm welcome seems strange when pulled through a portal without warning. Then again, the universe is full of many strange things.

I am Diana of Themiscyra, daughter of Hippolyta. I understand that I, or at least a version of myself, have been here before. My apologies to those who may have known me then, as I am afraid I will not know you. I look forward to becoming acquainted nevertheless.

[let's just pretend I did this more reasonably on time, it's been A Week]

How would you like some research work?

Are you planning on attending any of the numerous feeding frenzies?

Or have plans this weekend?

Is it bad to be banned from Starbucks? Like not even for breaking anything.

I put in for a service dog. Apparently, they can be good for people in wheelchairs to help with mobility and other things. Plus, it'll be nice to have someone who can help me so that Cassie isn't doing extra work for me. I found a program that pairs people with dogs fairly quickly, and I'll have to take some classes so I can get used to having one, but it's a step forward. I've had a woman involved with the program contact me, and I've already been paired with one.

[Filtered to parents/guardians of young children]

I've noticed that there's quite a few of us with young kids in the infant to preteen range. I know that some of us have been here for awhile, but some, like my family, haven't been here very long, and as a result, don't really have much in terms of friends for our children, or a support group of other parents.

Has anyone ever talked of maybe forming a parents and kids group? Like, the parents hang out and talk about our lives or whatever, while the kids all play together? We meet up at maybe different houses or go on outings together, like to museums and the zoo, have cookouts, things like that. Maybe parents who've been around for awhile can give tips to other Displaced parents, and our kids have a group of friends that are in similar situations to theirs.

If other parents wanted to, I certainly wouldn't object to forming a group like this. It'd be nice to have a support group of other parents and it would be nice for my kids to have some friends around their age who are also in the same situation that they are.

Anyone else have kids from the 7 to 10 range? Because while I think I'm amazing, my daughter doesn't think I'm a fun playmate and would like to upgrade me to actual kid.

We saw each other's plans. We know it's doable. And back home, we did do this even if Stone, Jones, and Reyes are from earlier in that timeline and never got to see it for themselves. So my question, I suppose, is how legitimate do we want to get with it? Because that's also doable, but we'd need to not live in Texas to do that if the Displaced want to stay under the radar.

So after sleeping for a solid 16 hours I started digging around on the internet. And found movies.

That probably sounds sketchy.

I found movies that include parts of my life.

It turns out my life is an alternate ending. So that's... cool. I guess. Not really.

Is this normal? Does this sort of thing exist for everyone?

Settled on a name. Say hi again to Charles de Batz de Castelmore d'Artagnan.

Or, as I like to call him, Chuck.

If anyone leaves Pokemon behind when they disappear and no one takes them in right away they could stay at the ranch until someone wants to adopt one. I don't know how consistent the portal will be about it.

Jonathon has stolen Esmeralda's bone. I think he got tired of her trying to whack him with it.

I'm looking for people to teach archery and firearms (preferably Earth standard ones) at the gym. 11am-12.30pm and 2pm-3.30pm are open all week as well as some evening spaces. Pay is $50 plus whatever you decide to charge students.

Right, so I guess I'm just going to be dealing with this now.

I'm Sara. Where's the best place to get a drink around here?

Guys. Why is there a French Mastiff addressed to me from the portal?

A few of you may have heard rumours that there are objects coming out of the portal. It looks like we're having another gift drop. Since there are so many of us these days and we don't know how long this will take or whether everyone will get something, it'll be easiest if we contact people as items arrive rather than have to field people asking and needing to check each time. So far everything's had a name tag on it so we shouldn't have too many problems. Let's get this done smoothly.

Voice to Text]

[Laurel sounds really panicked, and due to the fact that her senses are now screaming at her, might not respond. Rascal the Rockruff can be heard barking in the background, worried for his owner.]

I'm blind...I can't see anything. But everything feels like it's on fire. I can hear everything, my nose feels like it's burning, and everything just feels...intensified.

Someone help me. Please.

From what I’ve been able to learn:

  • 1953: Officially: meteor shower incident, Unofficially: that’s when giant metal pods fell out of the sky.

Also during this time the military set up shop, ⅓ of the Tumbleweed population died of some sort of contagion (otherwise known as water with lethal levels of lead in it). After that there have been various gas leaks every few years or so, varied reports of wild dogs taking to the streets once a month, gangs on PCP attacking every now and then, and the town undergoing quarantine or evacuation a few times over the years.

  • May 1962: town under quarantine for a month (said to be because of algae in the newly networked water supply)
  • January 1976: town evacuated for a week (train crash dumped toxic waste in the area that needed to be cleaned up)
  • October 1979: town evacuated for a week (toxic fumes coming from the new sewer system)
  • December 1985: town under quarantine (deadly strain of the flu)
  • September 1999: Local high school blown up by gas leak
  • December 1999: town evacuated again (truck crash outside of town dumped toxic waste into the streets and water supply). Was evacuated for two months. This corresponds with the attack on the base.

I’m not entirely sure what the real story is behind each of those incidents but if the military kept records (which its the military, they should have) there should be more information related to those incidents and what the actual threat was to the town at the time.

    [Texts to Kara Danvers]
--I think I've found some interesting bits in the archives
--You busy tomorrow to help me track down one or two leads?

Rockruff ate my good shoes. I'd be more annoyed, if he wasn't so cute when I scolded him. Still, now I have to get new shoes.

But, he now has a name. I'd been trying to come up with a name for him. So after that, now he's Rascal. I think it suits him.

I need a new breakfast place, I can't deal with the sorry excuse for pancakes JJ's has. Recommendations?

And has anyone seen this asshole around? He answers (when he feels like it) to Kap.

Thank you for letting me stay at the townhouse and thank you for letting me grumble at wood on your rooftop. I should be done your rooftop retreat within the week.

So The past couple of weeks I've been working on reworking my go to outlets for when things get frustrating and for when I can't handle a situation anymore. I think I've set up some strong methods with dealing with this that don't involve spiraling down bad paths, so I'm ready to go home and resume my life.

I'm going to work on finding a job next, so if you have any recommendations, hit me.

If you guys are ready for it, I'd like to come back home.

Now that it isn't the middle of the night and my son and I have slept and eaten more pancakes than I know what to do with--protip always keep emergency money in your bra, ladies--I've got a few questions. I read through the network a bit so might not quite be your typical ones from new arrivals.

Already know the fiction thing; googled myself about 10 minutes into being here.

  • Has anyone checked the town newspaper archives for more information on the incident that went down at the base?

I saw that you all fought various things when you came back from the cruise ship and the next day the people in town were calling it a gas leak or something like that. More instances of gas leaks or evacuations of the town for something not out of this world might give a better timeline of when things have come through and what occurred in those days right after the attack on the base. Especially since I'm gathering you don't know what happened to the perpetrator(s).

  • Schools.

My 10 year old can keep glaring at me all he wants, but who can explain the school situation a bit better to me. Because he's going.

  • Housing. It just shows up? Are you tracking that in any way?

Because Granny's is great but we're not about to move in here.

    Oh right. Lois Lane.

It's not that I don't trust people when they tell me I've been dumped in an alternate universe, it's just that I don't trust people as a general rule. No offense.

There is not enough whiskey in the entire universe for this bullshit.
