Pardon me, I hope this is working. I am Dolores. I arrived a few days ago and have already made my introductions to some of the folks here.

I do not know why there are suddenly so many birds, and I know everyone is worried about the sandstorms and the children going missing. It's such a shame. My parents and my cows are missing too. But I was told my home is in a different time and place and that I cannot return, so I must make do.

Unfortunately I was informed that the savings I have mean very little in the current market, and purchasing new cattle would not be so easy. But a nice lady told me that making pies was an option, so I have made a few dozen. Oddly enough, all the cans in my pantry were empty, so I had to buy what I could from the grocery.

All I have is apple. I am not sure what a fair price to ask for them are. But every penny helps. Thank you.

Okay. This is...new. And weird, yeah, definitely weird.

Apparently, my friend's house showed up with me, so I guess I've got a place to stay? So that's something.

Anyway, I'm Mal, and this was not what I was expecting today.

So I'm guessing this portal is kind of a magic thing? It feels like it would be a magic thing.

There seem to be consequences to [...] poking the bear. Count me among those who've lost one of their senses.

I haven't been able to hear anything for the last ten minutes.

Will you come and take a look at me? Then we can decide if I should also be examined by one of the clinicians here. Unless they've looked me up, they don't know about my [...] current condition.

I have been pondering what it is I want to do, while here. Which makes me curious about everyone else's thoughts. What's the thing you're most proud of/glad to have done since coming here? What do you most still want to do? What can you do that you cannot at home?

How much sailing have you done yet?

Hello again. How have you been settling in? I saw you on the charity post. And I thought it's been too long.

I've been thinking about spring break. I know it's still a couple months away, but I really want a good spring break away from Tumbleweed. Somewhere I've never been that's really brilliant to see. I've got a TARDIS and a portal that won't let me travel to other worlds or time, so that's limiting.

I thought about Everest, but I'm not sure there's a spot to land her. Then I thought about the Mojave, and that just seemed really cool for a bit, but then it's just sand. Ideally, I'd like to DO something. I'm not really a beach person — at least not the lying on the beach, tanning sort of beaches. British skin. Tends to burn.

What's your favourite place on this planet?

Two things:
1. If you happen to be wondering how to deal with the geese after you collect them, I'm pretty sure I have a couple of recipes around to make some really good dishes for a weekend family dinner.

2. I'm going to just go ahead and announce now that I'm having a 25% off sale for anyone who books me before February 1st for makeup and hair for their lovely Valentine's Day dinner date.

Unless you're vegetarian and vehemently against and offended by people eating animals, during which I may have just shot myself in the foot for making that first announcement along with my second.

I need someone to take me to Iceland once every two weeks to stock up on hákarl and Brennivín. I will pay handsomely.

I've been getting slowly more used to food that isn't, well, protein bars.

What do people recommend? I've had cakes and those were good. And mac and cheese. Also something called a burger?

[Attached is a video of Chopper arguing in beeps with a goose. Ezra's laughing from behind the screen as Chopper starts chasing the goose but then starts yelling as Chopper starts running back towards him, the goose chasing him. The video ends when Chopper crashes into Ezra and the camera goes flying. The last image is the face of their enemy, the goose.]

Are all the geese here thieves?

I dunno how it got my alethiometer but it did and then we had to chase it. And it got all the way to this shop in town. And then I had to buy it back because somehow the goose sold it to the man inside.

If I find him again we're going to eat him.

So, are we having our own thing for Christmas or are we joining someone else's celebrations?

Hello dear, have you had any water in the last hour? Please drink some more. For your health and well being. It's incredible what has happened here over the time we've worked on the portal. I have enjoyed it immensely, and you are an incredible magician to work with. It is with no harsh feelings that I wanted to let you know I will be resigning my position with the Bureau. We never know how much time we will have, and I want us all to choose carefully what we do with the gift it is. For me, the time has come that it means working elsewhere and on other magics. I wish you only the best with the portal, for I know this work is meaningful and valuable.

Thank you all for the work you do. It has been an honor to work with you. I am rendering my resignation, for two weeks time. Though you may always call on me during the emergencies we face as a community. Sincerely.

I know we all must think of what we want for Christmas, especially from the portal. I am tempted to request more of the wine I cannot otherwise come by here (not even piracy can help us there, Bard). But I wonder about the practice of New Year's resolutions. Has anyone begun thinking of those? Have had good ones in years past? Have kept one (and which one?).

Breq and I would like to invite you all to a holiday fundraiser dinner on December 7th, starting at 5 PM. Because we will also be opening this up to the general public, it will be hosted in the warehouse we have converted into a community center instead of on Station, located at [address].

Tickets will be sold at the door on a sliding scale, and the funds raised will go towards our efforts to provide food, safe spaces, and support in finding housing, jobs, and medical care for those without. Many foods that are considered typical holiday fare on this planet will be provided, and we would love it if anyone also wanted to bring their favorite holiday foods to share. We are still learning about all the Earth cultures, as well as all the cultures you have brought with you, and this is another very helpful way of donating to the cause.

If you're interested in volunteering your time and energy, either at the event or at other times, let myself or Breq know. We would be glad to have your help.

What traditions do you two have for the holiday season?

Attention ladies of Tumbleweed!

I'd like to introduce three of my darling sons for your eyes

And it should go without saying, of course, they're all delightfully single!

I don't know if this is generally what we use the network for, but if not, why not!

Belated as it is, we are having a birthday celebration for the love of my life, my dear husband, Rhy Maresh. It is, as ever, a gift to have each other here, and in that spirit everyone is invited. The only gift we ask of you is your company this Saturday, November 16th beginning at 4pm at the beautiful Playa Miramar. A portal will be set up at our residence to take you there, and you are welcome to join us by other means.

There will be food, drinks, and music as late into the night as you wish. If you would like to spend the night or two as well, let us know, and we shall arrange rooms for you.

We hope to see you there.

So I suppose proper introductions are necessary. Or a proper dinner. If you ladies want, we can make it a waffle night this weekend.

Let it be a lesson that honesty is most certainly not the best way to conduct a business, especially if its brand new and you have only opened a week ago. And it is dependent on not insulting women's looks, or at the very least, giving honest answers when they ask your opinion.

These faeries have ruined things before anything has even started.

Hello. My name is Genya Safin. I was informed by Rhy Maresh that I was to discuss a potential place of business with you.

Napoleon has a girlfriend now.

I'm taking suggestions for names.

I must say, the past few days since the tourists have left have felt like a blessing. I didn't realize how many intrusive questions people, especially those of non-royal lineage, were capable of asking.

Do you remember us speaking of a business loan previously? If not, I must have dreamt it when I had considered asking you sooner.

Of the many tragedies we've all seen through this place, I'd say that Mal Oretsev's facial hair is the worst.

Napoleon, Genya, help.

Crash Day was not something I had initially expected to become a successful business setting, but it did, and I am glad that I took the chance. It wouldn't have been possible without a friend giving me the idea and helping build my booth. This would be a great start to getting my own place of business.

I'd like to treat you both to dinner sometime. This weekend?

I've been busking for the tourists with my ukulele and I made $40 in an hour!

I'm gonna put on these on and see if I can make more people smile.

Jul. 12th, 2018

I've had a good friend suggest this idea. Since this Crash Day seems to be a popular thing here and I know people love to get extra for these things...

I am offering to turn your hair and skin color into whatever you want for a discounted price. The effects would last a day or less if you wish.

This Crash Day business is truly fascinating. From how seriously they're all taking it, one would think it's a festival for a saint.

Have you considered offering your services to make people look more like aliens? Because I think a lot of people would go for that.

Jun. 26th, 2018

My hair is getting too long.

I think one of the most fascinating things about humans is that even when they feel they are utterly finished with something, it makes its way to a store where someone else may find it and use it in their own lives. The sheer persistence of the existence of humans and their creations is astounding.

[Mr. Rory]
I believe I have found what you are looking for.

Hello. I just wanted to thank you for having me at your palace for the ball. I'm sorry I couldn't stay for too long. I had certain reasons for leaving, but it was beautiful while it lasted. I hope my skills met your standards and had kept the entire night.

Jun. 12th, 2018

Is there anyone here who I can consult with on starting up my own business? Those with expertise and/or experience in that area.

May. 27th, 2018

It would seem that this doorway into this world has fit to send me my personal vials of color dye that I often use for my Tailoring. I will have an even easier time seeing to anyone's makeup, eye color and hair color if anyone so chooses.

Are there any qualms against the potential use of the farm as a set up for a salon? I will confine it to my bedroom so you're not having too many strangers walking through your home.

May. 21st, 2018

With a ball coming up and with myself being without a job so far, I'd like to offer my services as a Grisha Tailor to the masses that will be attending.

First point I'd like to make is that by Tailor, I do not mean in terms of clothes. I work with physical attributes. I can make blemishes disappear. I can do a variety of hairstyles and add shiny to your locks. I can match your makeup perfectly to the dress you plan on wearing. I'll even give your eyes a particular tint. I can do most of this without caking your face full of foundation and primer and whatnot that the beauty salons of this world love so much.

If you're wondering about my credentials in this department, this is all I did during my life living at the palace in my world for the Queen. I was her Tailor for all the big events, having lived with her since I was five. I was a servant girl in this matter, however, so my payment was basically food and a roof over my head, but I've accumulated years of skill-honing.

The effects will be temporary, at best for several hours, so no need to worry about permanent makeup. Please reach out to me if you'd like my services.

May. 7th, 2018

Well, I've had about two weeks of sitting still on a farm, and while I'm not used to living in less glamor and wealth just yet, I'm mostly grateful I am no longer a queen's servant to be treated as such.

Nonetheless, boredom is starting to sink in so I suppose I should be doing something to keep myself busy and making sure I'm helping the newlyweds here with their expenses. What sort of job is around here for a Grisha to blend in and not look completely out of place with apparent scars and an eyepatch with a particular talent in changing people's physical features or poisoning them?

Apr. 29th, 2018

Well, I'm not entirely sure if I've cracked or if this is another form of merzost, but I'll play along. I'm Genya and I have just arrived. Would anyone please point me in the direction of the Sun Summoner and her tracker boyfriend?
