Does anyone here use alkahestry or has studied it before?

[Ed and Winry]
I can't believe I have so many presents! My alchemy books, packet of photos, and a whole library of alkahestry books all appeared. And Damien got me an IOU for a cat and lots of supplies. I can't believe I have so many nice things.

[Damian Wayne]
I think I'll be ready to go to the shelter tomorrow as long as Ms. Frost says I can have a kitten in the mansion.

[Emma Frost and Charles Xavier]
Damien has offered to give me a cat for Christmas and all the supplies to go with it. Would that be okay here at the mansion to have one in my room? I'll take very good care of them.

I'm ready to get fancy. I don't do that often.

[Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric]
Is there anything either of you want for this Christmas holiday coming up?

Dec. 1st, 2017

Okay, I know I said not even a week ago that Santa isn't real, but based on experience I'm going to suggest that waking up to a stamped self-addressed return envelope to the North Pole is the sort of thing you should actually take seriously here.

New arrivals, let me know if you want to do a Secret Santa. Sign ups close December 3rd, presents need to be with me December 19th. We're sitting at a little over 50 people participating at the moment.

Now that I've been out for a few days and have resettled myself...
Is there anybody that needs something fixed? I could be of use. I'm an Alchemist.

Nov. 28th, 2017

Back to the normal schedule. Art students, I'll go easy on you talking about your break as long as I can see you working.

[Rogue (Marian Carlyle)]
I take it you got back for dinner alright.

[Edward and Alphonse Elric]
I'm so glad my house is here. I'm even happier Den is here. I managed to move most of my things from the mansion to the house in only a few trips. I also got a job at one of the local bakeries and I start Monday, so I can start saving up for... well, whatever I decide to do here. I feel like there are already plenty of people who work with cybernetics-

Al, you're more than welcome to stay here. If you want to stay at the mansion, I understand. Mr Xavier said I'm welcome back, so I intend to visit whenever I can. Let me know what you plan to do. You have a room at the house anytime.

Nov. 22nd, 2017

One more day and I'm out of this room.

Alphonse, are you around? I gotta tell you something...
In case you don't know. Winry doesn't seem to remember.

Nobody has to worry about our gremlins. We took care of them.

But if anyone is good at fixing stuff, they kind of messed up the walls and cabinets in the bathroom.

My little Mogwai is doing really well, albeit he's been trying to trick me to break the rules. It might be getting to be too much to handle, so I might need to pass him off.

Edited in later
[Group Text to Ed and Al]

>>I'm thinking of passing my Mogwai on to someone better equipped to handle him.
>> Do you two want to pass yours on too?

Nov. 1st, 2017

If you've been sent a furry, large eared creature, then for God's sake, please follow the instructions on the box! Don't get it wet, and Don't feed it after midnight. The consequences of doing these things will be nothing short of disastrous for Tumbleweed and all her residents.

I'm thinking of creating a containment area for people to bring their Mogwai to keep them safe. This is a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Someone needs to take this little beast today before I have it humanely euthanized tomorrow.

I really liked Hocus Pocus. I thought it was very cute, and funny.

To those in attendance, sorry for crying like a sad little girl during the cat scene....

The progression of coding languages is amazing. The ones now are so much more complex than [.....] when I'm from. I'm pretty fluent in Standard C++, HTML, Javascript, Java, Python, ColdFusion, Mercury, PHP, Ruby, E, a lot of late 90's programming languages, and have been catching up on the newest ones online. The prior integration of data and object orientation has been crazy upgraded in the newer languages! The mass query and repetition built in? Way easier! Knowing some most some of the older languages that created the base format of these newer languages makes learning these new ones way easier. Being able to look at page source codes without having to hack into the web page itself? Magic! There's so many different OS types. The differences and similarities between them is staggering. I was also looking mobile application development and that's such a huge market, I never would have ever predicted any of this even if some of the coding language improvements were obvious upgrades. Like, duh, of course you'd want the data package to push through automatically by linking the two packages without having to manually code each push.

For something a little less nerdy: Chemistry Cat has to be one of my favorite things on the internet with his little glasses, little bowtie and being so periodically Fluorine, Uranium, Nitrogen, Nitrogen, Yttrium! :D

I've never been happier for a weekend. School work is [...] well, it's different than what I'm used to. I really need to work on my automail this weekend, now that I have time. I feel awful letting it sit. I don't want to let Ed down.

Al, I hope you enjoyed your pie.

Mr Xavier, I've left several pies for the mansion in the kitchen. And I cleaned up after myself as promised.

Oct. 11th, 2017

So, the internet? Wow. This is mega-huge. Like bigger than I ever could have imagined it being sort of huge. Titanosaur argentinosaurus huinculensis cross bred with a Blue Whale kind of huge!

It's so easy to get lost in too.

Has anyone else lost an hour of their life to aodrable cat videos?

Oct. 8th, 2017

I'm pretty sure it went without saying, with everything that happened this week, but we're going to move our Pumpkin event back to next weekend. We wouldn't want Poe to be at disadvantage with how long he was a Dog and all.

If you didn't know about it, we're going to be having a little fall get together at the ranch. There's going to be the pumpkin carving contest as well as a corn maze and tons of food. You should join us. It's going to be a lot of fun.

I'm finally back to myself. Thank you Dr. Strange, Winry, and Ed for taking care of me and keeping me safe. I think being a cat has made me want one even more. I didn't think that was possible. They are amazing, all the things they can hear and sense. I felt so connected to my environment.

Is this the sort of thing that happens often here? I hope not.

This is an update on my earlier investigation.

With help from Vision, we've been able to identify the man who opened Spooktacular. His name is Ethan Rome, and he rented the storefront for two months, but didn't begin moving costumes into the space until the middle of September. The employees he hired say he was odd, but not unkind, and paid well for the part-time work at his shop. We do not have any clear photos of him, but he's described as having blond hair, 5'5' and being 35 years of age. It's clear that the name is an alias - the identification he provided to rent the store are forgeries and don't trace back to anything, and his digital footprint is practically non-existent. I wouldn't be surprised if his appearance was also a disguise, given the man was obviously a skilled sorcerer - somebody of his caliber wouldn't have a problem altering his bodily features. In any case, Ethan has effectively appeared and disappeared without a trace - the last time he was seen was on the day before the Come As You Aren't party.

After conferring with my fellow magic-users in town, we've determined that the only costumes that caused the transformations came from Spooktacular. As many of you might have already surmised, the transformations are not permanent, and once the transformation has ended, the costume becomes entirely mundane. However, the costumes that remain in Spooktacular are still cursed. So to prevent any more chaos, we have closed the shop and sealed it with a variety of magical wards to keep the magic contained until we are able to dispel the curses. All other costumes, not bought at Spooktacular, are safe to wear.

If you would like to return the costume that was bought at Spooktacular, we will accept them, and store them safely within the shop.

I, myself, am purchasing my Halloween costume online, and having it shipped.

[Private to Magic-Users]
The nature of the magic used for the curses are not malevolent, and it occurs to me as I was writing this, that this is more the work of a Trickster. Thor suggested to me that this seemed to be something Loki would do, but this was before Loki appeared. But I also considered this work could be Prankish in nature, along the lines of Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

Group Text to Ed and Al

I just found my invitation to that party everyone is talking about! Are you two going? I want to go. It sounds fun!

[X-Mansion and Family (not Mystique)]
Hope, Anka Irene and I are taking a break for a few weeks down in South America. With Erik leaving and then Peter too we're needing some time to regroup and I think some time away from here'll be best for the three of us.

We're leaving on Sunday and we'll be keeping in contact. Sorcha and Bamfy are coming with us, so if'n you need us real quick we'll have an easy way back.

And don't let Mystique into the mansion.

Filtered to Ed and Al

I really hope whatever beds you guys are sleeping on are comfortable, because I cannot sleep in this place. I was up all night. Maybe I'll be so exhausted tonight that I just pass out.

[To anyone who's talked to Al so far EXCEPT Winry]
My friend Winry from home showed up today! I'm really excited. She's like my big sister. I want to make her feel welcome. Is there something nice that's food or machinery related that I could get her to make her feel a little less stressed about being here? I haven't gone to any of the shops yet.

[Private to Emma, Ed, and Charles Xavier]
Ms. Frost, Winry, Ed and I's friend from back home, has arrived. She's sixteen like Ed and a really brilliant automail mechanic. She's like our family, her grandma took us in after our mother died when we were little. Can she come live at the mansion too? She can stay in our room with us so it's not more space, but she'd need food? We can work to pay for her, we still need jobs anyway to earn money. I was hoping she could go to school with us too? I'm sorry to be asking for more favors so soon.

Being quarantined is a bit much. I am not diseased!

Also, what is a taco?

okay what's a froopyland and where's a froopyland exist?? i heard someone talking about it and now groot wants to go

we're in. quill's gonna sign for me

There's a rainbow doorway into another place by a house [Rick's address] here. I went inside because I saw a weird guy push a struggling woman through it and it's AMAZING?! There is a rainbow waterfall and if you jump off anything you bounce on the ground. I could even breathe underwater when I went swimming! There were large furry creatures that were friendly and let me pet them. I had no idea there were such amazing places here!

Is it related to Halloween that people were talking about?

Who wants to come play there?

Sep. 26th, 2017

That Halloween flyer reminded me I need to figure out what I want to dress up as.

Sep. 25th, 2017

Hi, I'm new here and finally out of quarantine. I wasn't sure what to do with myself now that my brother and I are here. I'm fifteen, but I can do lots of different jobs. I know we will need money.

Also, this world is so wonderous, so different than where I'm from. Is there some way to learn more about all the science and machines here?

Sep. 24th, 2017

Well, I officially had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season.

Sep. 20th, 2017

Finally out of that damn room.
Was starting to feel claustrophobic.

Hey brother, where are you?

Sep. 18th, 2017

Not sure if I'm using this right, but hi, my name is Alphonse. I don't know why I'm here. But, is my brother here? Or Winry? General Mustang? I'm so scared.

I guess the people who took my blood and did tests think I have a disease so I'm in quarantine. But they healed me, so that seems strange. Or, well, someone/something healed me. I have never seen a doctor's office or hospital like this where people are locked into rooms they can't escape. Is that normal here? I forgot what it was like to feel so good and strong in my real body...

I'm still a bit confused about what's happening and how to get home? Also, how am I able to communicate via this machine I'm talking to. At home, even the military and the Fuehrer King didn't have this kind of technology.

This is not how I thought my day was going to go, but since I'm here, I might as well introduce myself.

If titles are important to you, I am Lord George Drayton ade Martel ade Camarine, Lord of Longshire, Steward of the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom of Adrianaglia.

If titles are not important, I'm George, and I once watched the entirety of the original Star Wars trilogy without a bathroom break.

I'd like to use the duration of my quarantine to better understand this world's culture. I've watched a few key movies and read some Kafka, but I know there's still a lot more to it. What are your recommendations for books and movies I should know about?
