Alright, so I thought it was a fluke, because I'm a very handsome man, but this is the second day in a row where I've been getting marriage proposals while waiting in line at Starbucks.

I'm gonna lay this out there. We have no science department right now, so we have no idea where the portals came from, why they showed up, if they're tied to anything we might have done, or if the disappearances have anything to do with the portals.

I know there's a lot of science types out there, but we are severely lacking in equipment, and we're still talking funding with those of the Displaced who offered there help. If you'd like to be included on budget talks because you're interested in helping us fund the place, that can be arranged, just let me know.

For now, we're still handling everything on a volunteer basis.

We might need a bigger science department then I thought. We were not prepared at all for those portals to open up around town. Thankfully, the Displaced stepped up, like they always do, but we need to find out if there's a way we can get some kind of advanced warning. I know things are tough right now and there's a lot of uncertainty going around, but if you want your homes and apartments warded so uninvited guests can't enter it, I'm willing to do it for the nominal fee of your souls.

For the record? 'Learn some of Merlin's magic (though not from Merlin himself)' from the brochure is a scam. They won't teach you any real magic. All they do is tell tales of what Merlin did. I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of time, but I was disappointed.

Also? The Lady of the Lake is nothing like the tales. She's a siren who'll entice you with her powers of illusion and then try to drown you. Water plants come forward and ensnare you so you can't swim to the surface. I learned this the hard way. The only way I managed to escape my death was that my Cloak saved me.

I'm really curious if there's a tried and true way to combine the two. Since they both work with energies within the world I would think there is, but I haven't been able to find a good cross point for them yet.

You know, I never really got the whole Lord of the Rings obsession, but I have to admit Middle Earth is pretty fucking awesome. This has been a fun stop.

New jewelry, new clothes, herb gathering, and learning what I can about healing magic around here. Things have been going pretty well, this place is absolutely beautiful. It's amazing how a reminder of a commercial celebration of romance can just make you want to sit and drink. At least there's no decorations strung up everywhere.
