Clover's abilities had never been a secret for him and he'd never had to keep them from anyone, so he didn't understand the idea of keeping things to himself. At least on that topic of conversation. Everyone's abilities were either known or found out during a fight. It just was what it was.
"Yeah. I lived in a fishing town. Mine's more of a fishing pole, but as a weapon." It worked better in certain situations than others. "It's got a grappling hook at the top. I designed and built it myself." Which was part of training to be a Hunter. The weapon looked small at his hip, but that was just because it could collapse into a smaller weapon until he needed it again.
He smiled at that. "Oh that? No. I have no control over that. I can increase it or decrease it, but other than that, I can't control who gets the luck and who doesn't. I also can't turn it off." As for the next question. "Born with it. Not everyone unlocks their semblance, but I did when I was younger. I went to school to become a Hunter. Which is where all the training to work around the potential of someone else getting the luck comes in. I trained to fight the Grimm. They're our monsters. Soulless, drawn to the negative human emotions, set out to destroy everything and everyone they can. I went to school to learn how to fight them and keep people safe. So it's good to be prepared for anything. Even my luck going to the Grimm."
