Man, I forgot, for a moment there, how it felt to be much older than 20. Probably because on the day of my actual birthday, I was like.. at least 30. Wasn't the only time this happened either, but I've learned to take solace in the fact that whenever ANYTHING seems to happen in a universe that is not my own and is more of a gathering spot for people from other universes... it's always temporary.

Minus the expansion of this town, which I feel like was a result of something we may have accidentally done while stuck in the past.

Anyway, happy belated birthday to me, I now have ten more years till I start looking like the redhead from Mad Men. Huzzah.

I've been meaning to check in on you two. Vader can be quite — unpleasant. Is there anything I can do?

A full weekend before high school officially begins. Is it normal to be a little nervous? I'm assuming it is, mostly because New School and all.

Okay, I'm about to do something I thought I would never do -- because, you know, I joined Artemis's group of huntresses and that's supposed to be my utmost priority, etc etc. -- but, well. I'm here asking for boy advice. Or boy... translation? Is going to a festival with someone considered a date even though neither of you have said the word "date" but you did say "hey, I like you" weeks before?

So, a couple of things. This has been my first summer spent in this place, minus the going back in time and all. Back home, I think we're pretty lucky if summers are not spent fighting some big battle because of the Oracle (and Rachel, occasionally, Hera) giving us prophecies and all and telling us "the world is going to end today unless you do the thing!" Which, usually meant not being able to do EVERYTHING I always wanted to before the summer ended, including going to the New York State Fair.

That being said, we should plan a trip for some time this month, maybe this weekend, if anyone wants to come with because I seriously want to go. Anyone in?

New York was large, and I think I always knew that, but I never really felt like I knew it well. So traveling somewhere like DC in this time was incredibly enlightening and I am glad to have had the opportunity to do it.

Ugh, hurricane alley. It looks like the storms are going to be a lot further east of us at least, but I doubt I'll make any outside plans for later this week. Sounds like a good time to stay inside and paint.

So it's about that time to look for a job.

I'm thinking about applying at the University - Art History is right up my alley. I'll still do commissions on the side, of course, and maybe some community classes. If there's interest, that is.

In the meantime I've got the following pieces for sale. Forgeries First two are replicas, of course. Though really no one will be able to tell. The last is an original watercolor.

Somehow young me forgot how amazing coffee was. This is probably a good thing for everyone who was putting up with me during this time, but I am happy to be back to enjoying it again this morning.

Unrelated, I kind of wish there were as many used airplane lots in this town as there are used car lots.

I would like to thank everyone who helped my younger self last week.

As bracing as it is being here, it will be good the school year starting back to bring a sense of normalcy to things. For kids out there, we'll be starting up on September 5th, after the holiday.

For anyone looking to teach, we're starting Development on the 30th and could still use some help, largely in the arts and electives. Also, I'd like to propose we start discussing establishing a pool of substitutes in case of another event like last week which takes out another group of us.

The EPS can help defray certification costs if necessary.
