Um... I don't remember the town being this big. What the heck happened here? What the heck did I miss??
Are you missing anything?
When the world gets bigger, experience tells me to retreat and secure the borders of the territory I've claimed as my own, to ensure that when they come for us, we'll be ready for them. When I first arrived, us was me. Then Rogue. Then Hope. Then Peter. Then Anka Irene. And of course, Charles. Us grew as if it fed on some quiet resolve that I didn't know possessed me here.
I'm glad you're all here. I trust that you will remain here. In that other place, I came to see the world in absolutes. Perhaps I still do. But that absolutism has bloomed past myself, encompassed Mutancy, and encompassed the Displaced as a whole. That was the reason for the caves. Quick, effective shelter for all of us. And though they do not need it here, perhaps what they do need is an opportunity to be together. Or, at the very least, a time to eat.
What do you say to inviting all for a dinner? We can procure a long table, put it in the clearing, and have everyone over. We'll get their friendship and, at the very least, we'll take their measure.
I trust the time travel left you unharmed.
Not quite Neiman Marcus, but I hear tell there's a Nordstrom in town now.
So that phone call...FORT NEILL MILITARY BASE DISPLACED:
Whatever we did in the past changed something. Natasha Romanoff works at Fort Neill, not General Norma Smith. Guess I'll figure out what I do when I get there.
Keep the bed warm for me?
Don't be alarmed, but I work at the base now. Just not [...] undercover.
