When Nico had mentioned that he and Credence were going out exploring, Anakin had decided to take that opportunity to bow out, not because he had no interest in exploring with the other two, although it was always a little odd how much Nico and Credence looked alike - like they could be brothers if not twins - but more because he had another interest. Nico's birthday was at the end of the month, and Anakin wanted to make certain he had a good one. And considering they were in a different location than he was used to, it might take a little extra planning and so he and Bianca were partnering up to come up with a plan. Right now the plan involved sitting beside one of the pools, and Anakin was sipping on something that was sickly sweet, chilled, and possibly contained alcohol. He hadn't questioned one way or another and he didn't intend to. "I think the where and what is going to be the biggest question," Anakin considered the surroundings. "If it were Percy's birthday I'd say pool party, but this is Nico, sooo. Maybe not. But we can't exactly have it in our room. Although yours is bigger, huh? I guess maybe we could do something there. But the ship is big enough there maybe is a common area." Bianca, meanwhile, had stuck to something non-alcoholic. Not that she had much of a choice. And after the last time she had alcohol, she was likely not about to have some in a while. The memory of that migraine had not left her. Still… at least her drink had an umbrella. “We could do it in our suite. Obviously the others are not going to mind, but… it might still be a bit small if we’re inviting people outside of just our group.” Which was already going to be big with Anakin’s siblings and his mother. “Do you think we can maybe close off a section of the main eating place? You know… if the other restaurants and stuff don’t allow private parties? We might have to ask around and see.” Anakin pulled out the map and brochure of the ship that he'd pulled out of his room right before the left to take a look at the different offerings. "I'm really still figuring out what's here," he admitted, before he opened it up and looked at it. There were restaurants, the casino and lounge spaces, the pools and hot tubs, and of all of those, it seemed like the pool was the easiest option in the sense that everyone could just be there. "Maybe one of these card rooms? I don't know how big they are though, we might have to check it out," he said pointing to the rooms reserved for game play. "They may not be big enough and I definitely want a space where we can maybe do some decorating and as many people as want to can come. I guess we could ask one of the staff if there's a place they'd recommend?" Bianca leaned over to peer at the map over Anakin’s shoulder. The pool still felt like a Percy sort of place to her, and even if Nico wouldn’t have minded a birthday party there, she still felt it would be best to stay away from water. Lest Percy wanted to get distracted or something. “You know, the best way to figure it out would probably be going up there to check it out. See if we can ask the staff currently there to help us out even. I wonder if I’d be able to set up my own decor or if they’ll provide something.” "That makes sense. You want to walk up right now?" He asked, putting the map down as he asked the question. "We could just wander and see if we can figure out a place that looks like it would work. It feels as if there ought to be some sort of larger space that could be reserved for parties and things, but I'm not seeing anything that looks specifically like it." Anakin got to his feet. "You know, we always watch pirate movies, maybe we could do sort of a pirate theme. We are on a boat, so that might make sense too…" Bianca took one last swig of her drink, emptying the glass. Her straw was still in her mouth as she nodded at Anakin’s question. “Yes, and yes,” she said, putting it down and also getting to her feet. “Well… I think they encountered a group of pirates on Leo’s ship when they were on their last quest, but I don’t think Nico had been there when it happened, nor do I think the pirates are the same ones that you normally see on TV. None of them would have looked like Jack Sparrow, at least, anyway.” Picking the closest doorway leading away from the pool, Bianca started walking in that direction. “So, what are you planning on getting him other than this will-be-kickass party?” Anakin laughed as he stood up. If none of them looked like Jack Sparrow or Errol Flynn for that matter then it had obviously been a bad Pirate attack. If this boat ended up taken over by pirates he rather hoped that at least they would be pretty ones. Of course experience with actual pirates was likely to not be nearly as glamorous as films made it out to be. But Bianca's question sobered him as he followed her. "I'm not really sure," he admitted. "It feels like shopping is a little limited here. I guess if we stop someplace maybe I can look there too, but while I haven't spent a lot of time in the ship's stores, I can't really imagine that there's going to be the perfect present there either. Do you know what you're getting?" Bianca’s response to that was an awkward smile and a shrug. “I didn’t really get the chance to shop for something before we ended up here! And, yeah, you’re right, there’s not exactly a full-sized mall on this place either.” She had a few ideas, but suddenly finding yourself on a boat severely limited her in ideas. “I guess that means we’re both going to be shopping at some point together! Whenever we stop, I mean.” "I'm down with that," Anakin grinned. "We might have to beg someone to keep him occupied for a few hours, but whatever the first stop is, then we go look for something really cool to get him as opposed to chintzy visitor stuff on the ship. Cause, whatever that is - I'm sure it's not good enough for Nico." He pulled open a door to the staircase, and held it so they could walk through and head towards the upper decks and their location. He hoped they'd be able to find a place where they could really do a party like this, because if there wasn't someplace it was going to make the birthday kind of lame. "Of course, not knowing what sort of place we're stopping at makes it difficult to think about the type of thing we might find," he squinched up his face. "I guess I could think about a cool jacket or something, if there was something that looked like Nico and was native to the place. No colorful floral shirts though, cause he might be allergic to those," Anakin chuckled. Bianca laughed. “Unless you wrapped up something in a floral shirt first, and then found a nice cool jacket to put underneath. Prank gifts!” Once they got to the upper deck, she paused to survey the area, hands on her hips as she thought to herself. “You remember that place on the spaceship that we used for our birthdays and also used to simulate Capture the Flag? I may not have been overall pleased with being on the ship, but that placed made it all able to be easily forgotten. I guess there’s just not enough space on this ship.” Anakin looked at Bianca, eyes wide and delighted. "This is so what I'm doing now. I mean, unless you want to. We both could, although he might catch on by the second one - still, I think it'd be well worth it to see his face." He paused and glanced around the deck to get his bearings. "Maybe we could see what the Observation Lounge looks like. It might not be a place where we could really do a reservation, but if it was large enough, maybe we could commandeer some of the space? And see if we could use the film screen on this deck for showing a pirate film that night? We could have birthday cake in the lounge, and maybe figure out some way to decorate at least a section of it?" “How about this,” Bianca started. “The prank one can be a gift from both of us together, and then we get another gift, a separate one for him from each of us.” She was standing right behind Anakin, following his gaze to the general direction of where the Observation Lounge would be. There were probably a lot of close-to-ideal spots on the ship to put a party. Some even did reservations and private parties, but those all seemed to come off as more twenty-one-and-older-esque. “I can totally handle the decorations, so we wouldn’t need to worry too much about that. We just gotta figure out the where, first and then the rest should be easy.” She raised her hand in the direction of where they’d have to eventually walk to reach the lounge. “After you?” Anakin gave Bianca a lopsided grin. "That makes perfect sense. We'll just have to figure out what that should be. But someone should be filming him opening it." He stepped forward, looking around, and spotting one of the help near a table. "There's someone over there, let's go ask about reservations and that sort of thing maybe, and then we can go from there." |
