GATEWAY: SIREN AND KRAKEN ATTACK.
WHAT HAPPENS
The Seven Seas Explorer expected to pull out of dock at 10am today due to imminent attack. Everyone was informed when they returned to the ship on Wednesday evening. However, that won't be happening because......
The country of Sirenia and Atlantis have a long and storied history. They've constantly been battling one another, with Sirienia's intent of taking Atlantis for themselves. Most of the Sirens used to be Atlanteans a long time ago, but left over the typical disputes that people tend to have over years of living in countries. In this case, the Sirens didn't like outsiders coming to their world so they left Atlantis for a new world that wasn't quite as awesome as the one they had before.
Whatever the reasoning, the Sirens have come along for another round of WHO WILL WIN ATLANTIS?
Usually, they've got their weapons and numbers, sailing in ships that aren't QUITE as advanced as the Atlanteans. This time, however, they've got a few extra tricks up their sleeves. Firstly, those Sirens who are not mer-people will be riding on shark mounts. They will be preparing for above water attack with spears and crossbows. Below the water, you have your mer-people who will be using standard things like tridents, stilettos, spears and, of course, their tails which have tessens attached to them. Both will be looking to kill.
The first sign of attack, however, will be the arrival of a fast moving wave that doesn't ever crest like a surfer's wave. Something is obviously moving very fast underwater.
Tentacles will engulf the Seven Seas Explorer, however the ship immediately kicks into protection mode and phases. While you cannot see through it and everything looks solid, the kraken's tentacles will go straight through the ship, no matter how many times it tries to latch on.
Immediately following, the water below the main underwater part of the city is spotted with blood, indicating that mer-people have begun attacking below. Unfortunately, none of the Displaced should be down there immediately because they were supposed to be on the ship for headcount. You're welcome to head down and attack.
Those on shark mounts will begin firing on land and sea until they get close enough to hop off those mounts and take to the streets of Atlantis. There are more of these people than the others so get out there and stop them. They're indiscriminately killing people, even if they don't have weapons.
And finally, once the Kraken gets tired of trying to take out the ship it can't touch, it will stand up out of the water and the above is what you see. It will attempt to bite the ship and anything that gets in its way.
OOC INFORMATION
Most of you should be on the ship around 9:30am when everything goes down, which means:
Get kids, disabled people, and those who cannot fight to safety.
Magicians have created portals to the safety of the community center on each floor and then near each disabled person's suite. These door portals are PURPLE. Other portals go to various parts of the ship so look for the purple ones.
The robots and the ship will immediately go into protection mode. While the robots have no weapons, they can protect you with their bodies by grabbing a hold of you and phasing in and out with you to make sure you take no damage. The ship with phase in and out as it is attacked.
We'll be rolling for damage, so make sure under DAMAGE, you put what you're comfortable with:
0 - no damage
1-3 - minor damage: scrapes, bruises, cuts. These things generally take a few days to a week to heal.
4-5 - intermediate damage: broken bones, internal injuries, things that will take a few weeks to heal.
6-8 - major damage: permanent injuries such as missing limbs, paralysis. While you can eventually learn to deal with these, you will never be healed.
9 - Death. If your character dies, they will be labeled as deceased on the discharacters page and are no longer playable by anyone.
We'll be leaving the details of the battle up to you, but the Displaced will be winning this one, obviously. It's just a matter of how. So you have to figure out how to stop the mer-people from attacking and killing, the mounted riders, and the kraken.
ENJOY!
