Brothers, indeed. Hilda could have told Signy that brothers and sisters did not hug the way that Imenry and Brennan did - more like long-parted lovers at last reunited, and the skald would find out if this supposition were true, in good time.
Till then, however, she drew nearer to the small party forming in the street, allowing her long stride to slow enough to give Imenry plenty of time to order her affairs. From the (slightly goofy) smile on her face, the blonde woman thought that this was a happy time, but it was always good to be careful when walking into such a situation. She came close while Imenry was introducing the little dwarf mage to the dark-haired man; she and Imenry had talked at length, however, and what remained unspoken between the barbarian-woman and the mage spoke volumes to Hilda. She had suspected that something terrible had happened to Imenry's loved ones - this was all but confirmation of that inkling.
That did not mean she could not greet this serendipitous turn in Imenry's wyrd with wide arms and a bright smile. "Ho, Imenry, Signy!" The call was not strictly necessary, but as tall as the woman was, she found it paid to give strangers plenty of warning before they were beset upon by a blonde skald fit to loom over more southern-born members of society. "Deed hyu haff trouble at der orchard, Imenry? Vos small problem here, bot no ting ve could no handle. Der feexing off der town is going vonderfol, und der lake seems unoffected. Is a blessing, und I vill make happy ending for der kenning I write for der skirmish." She came to a stop in the group, quite a contrast between tiny, shy Signy and tall, open Hilda, her trademark smile beaming.
"I am Hilda Aelricsdottr, skald. Is ferry good to meet hyu!" And she meant it!
