Imenry didn't know how long she'd been standing there hugging Brennan, but she didn't care. She didn't want to let go. She drew back just enough so that she could study his face, one arm still around his waist, her fingers caught in the fabric of his shirt. As if she were to let him go he might disappear, this wouldn't be real and he would be lost to her again.
With her free hand she reached up to touch his face, as if reassuring herself that he was truly there. Her fingers drifted over the curve of his cheek, traced the line of his jaw and felt the stubble there. She smiled and dropped her hand to her side, uncertain what to do with it. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement and remembered they weren't exactly alone; standing in the middle of Redcliffe village.
People she didn't recognize drifted in and out of her field of vision, and then the flash of blonde hair and she saw Hilda in the distance. The skald would have been impossible to miss anywhere, and Imenry raised her free hand in a greeting. Signy was approaching from behind her, and she didn't see her yet, turning her attention back to Brennan.
"What are you doing here? How did you... how did you get away from..? Nevermind we'll talk about that when we're in a less public place. I'm just happy you're alive. Are you staying here in Redcliffe?" Imenry had never been chatty and it felt odd to fire so many questions at him at once. And she wrinkled her nose when she remembered just how terrible she smelled.
"I need a bath... badly... But Hilda's coming over and I should introduce you to her. Her home is... a little like ours. But be sure not to mention anything about..." her voice dropped "old gods or dragons." She simply assumed that Brennan would stay with her now. She'd have to make sure it was okay with Signy, and be assured that he could be protected by the Wardens. She didn't want any Templars coming and taking her best friend away when she'd just found him again.
