One thing that Aurin never once understood is just how someone like Bethe and a bastard like Constans could get along so well. He was convinced that the apprentice mage had duped her in some strange way and she was just too trusting to see it. He had tried being angry with her about that but he really couldn’t stay angry with Beth for more than a few moments at a time and just getting angry with her took quite a bit of willpower. So it wasn’t something he tried for long, it just wasn’t worth the effort of it all. He had tried to convince her that Constans was just using her, that he was evil incarnate…but that was about as effective as trying to paint the entire outside of the tower with a small hand brush.
“Oh cut them some slack. Wasn’t all that long ago that you happened to be one of them,” Aurin replies with a flash of a hidden grin as he attempted to subtly brush the remains of the crumbs off of the breastplate of his armor. “This one though, you just had to leave the books in /his/ room though didn’t you?” He adds as he hooked a thump towards the offending door, the venom in his words hidden by the thinnest of margins. There wasn’t a reason though to stop her from going through the door, even if he wanted to keep the mage that was his friend and the apprentice that was his enemy apart.
“Fine fine, go on though,” He finally replied with a sigh as he stepped aside from her way. The sudden question caught him by some surprise though as he swung his head back towards the Mage with a surprised look on his face. “The Templar Quarters?” He paused for a moment before his shoulders lifted and fell with a shrug that caused a rattling of armor.
“I guess everything up there is just fine Beth, I wouldn’t even know really,” His face twisted into a wry smile. “I spent most of last night and some of this morning getting run around the practice ground by a pair of annoyed Brothers. They…caught me filching some cookies again.” The look on his face turned mildly sheepish. “I would have been fine if I hadn’t gone and shared them with a few of the youngsters…they caught me coming back and decided to give me a bit of a reason to actually rest at night.”
He paused then though and a curious look came over his face. “…but why do you ask that Bethe?”
