In the past days of traveling, Thais occasionally spoke to Lucressia or Rhocanth. She tried to make light conversation with the Ledaal brothers. Sometimes, she would retreat in her tent to brush her hair or clean her clothing. A few times, she practiced her spells when waking up before the party headed out. The closer they got to Lothering, the more she overheard Bethen speaking about her previous life there. Thais stayed silent about her own connection with the town, but in her mind the memory of the Lothering Chantry was loud.
Once in Lothering, Thais stood at the edge of the group as tasks were distributed. She looked around the town, half-listening to the discussions taking place. Her attention was peaked when she heard Bethen volunteer to gather medical supplies. Thais bristled, the other mage might know a fair amount about potions but Thais wanted to make sure that the medical supplies gathered were enough to make everything she needed. As she had learned in her years at the tower, if you want something done right, do it yourself. Thais decided she would contact Bethen about it once the group was done discussing the rest of the tasks.
Meanwhile, her bright yellow Enchanter robes were garnering some attention, and after minutes of being in the town, Thais was approached by a rather plain-looking man. He seemed curious as he asked whether Thais was part of the Circle of Magi. She responded with a flip of her hair and a nod. The man seemed awe-struck or insulted or something like that, Thais didn’t care to figure out what his expression was as she noticed that Bethen had disappeared. Ignoring the man’s response, she surveyed the town to see the other mage walking away with the dog and the templar following after her. Thais sighed. She gathered up her robes, as if it would help the already dusted hem from getting dirty.
As Thais followed, she realized that they were not headed towards any market or shop but instead towards the Chantry. Thais frowned as she drew closer. She eyed the Chantry with an annoyed expression.
“Excuse me,” Thais stated as she moved past the sister and templar with an air of confidence and entitlement. She kept her gaze firmly upon Bethen, Alderic and the dog making it clear where she was headed in case the templar she had passed wasn’t sure. Once she got closer, Thais skipped a couple steps to speed up and make sure she was in range of the group, “I wasn’t aware medical supplies were given out by the Chantry.” Her tone was sharp and clearly sarcastic as she stepped up in front of Bethen. She glanced down at the dog, the haughty expression on her features only strengthening, “Is the mutt going to help by slobbering over the items? Or perhaps it will intimidate the Chantry enough to lower prices on whatever supplies they must have.” Thais paused, glancing at Alderic. She kept her arms crossed in front of her chest.
