Her smile turned a touch indulgent as Deidre watched Jaswont and Bethen interact, with the latter moving to the dwarf's workbench and curiously peering at his inspection. The look on her face lingered when the shopkeeper's response ended up being favorable and positive -- it was worth the trip, to see the heavy melancholy and regret fade off the Warden's face in favor of a brighter expression that communicated her pleasure at hearing that she would have a suitable gift to give to Aurin before they all parted ways. The inference from the dwarf was also noted; as far as people's interactions were concerned, the would-be cleric missed very little, waiting patiently as today's transactions were concluded.
That glimpse of discomfort on Bethen caused her to wonder, however, but she dismissed it with a shrug to herself. Perhaps the man got it all wrong, after all.
Whenever the mage was finished speaking with the dwarf and rejoined her at her place in the common room of the shop, she tilted her head to her a little bit. "Was there anything else you wanted to get from town today before heading back? Now's the time to resupply, I think," she inquired. "I thought I could grab a few items myself, if you're going."
She pulled the door open for the other woman, easing a step behind her once she was through it, a wave left for Jaswont before leaving the establishment completely. "I was curious about what you said earlier," she continued, deviating from prior discussions to one sideskipped from a few moments before. "About shades. You mentioned how sharlocks seem to share some characteristics with them. Have you ever seen a shade before?" They were common in ruins, especially in sites of great bloodshed and pain, but she was aware that Bethen had been cloistered in Kinloch Hold for most of her life. The presumption that she had seen them in dreams was there, her brows somewhat furrowed as she tried to think of other possibilities as to how she could've encountered them, if any. After all, she could just be going by old stories and passages she read from other books.
